EDIT December 7, 2010: New information on the Body, Hands, and Earring coming in and being added to the post.

- Body, Hands, Earring added to guide below
- Apparently Scars zone Resistance Ops can now give +1 head/legs/feet seals as a reward, new since December update.
- Dominion Ops can give +1 seals for body/hands
- JSE earrings are dropping from NMs, haven't seen any reports of Cirque Earring dropping yet though.

* Likely drops from an NM in Heroes zones (other jobs' lv90 JSE earrings confirmed to drop from NMs), any confirmation of Cirque Earring drops appreciated.

II. OBTAINING THE SEALS TO DO YOUR +1 UPGRADES
The head/legs/feet +1 upgrade items are split up to the Scars zones as follows: Head = Attohwa, Legs = Misereaux, Feet = Vunkerl. For head/legs/feet, there are two ways to get seals - one repeatable quest per zone, and several NMs per zone that drop the seals.

For the body/hands, seals for +1 upgrade for both pieces are confirmed possible random rewards from completing Dominion ops. More information coming to determine whether it is only from specific ops, zones, etc. Also yet to be confirmed whether they also drop from NMs or other quests in the Heroes zones.

a) Quests.
Cirque seals quests for head, legs, and feet (need 8 seals to upgrade each piece from NQ to +1):

Head: An Acrididaen Anodyne (Yoran-Oran, Abyssea-Attohwa, lv3 fame required)
Legs: Smoke Over the Coast (Hungry Wolf, Abyssea-Misareaux, lv1 fame required)
Feet: Scattered Shells, Scattered Mind (Aladoverre, Abyssea-Vunkerl, lv3 fame required)
* PUP seals drop alongside RDM/DRK/RNG in the above quests. A seal will sometimes be given as a reward, and which of the four jobs appears to be completely random.
* The above quests are repeatable, but require zoning between completing and re-flagging the quest. Using a conflux does not count as zoning.

b) Notorious Monsters.
For the head/legs/feet, +1 Seals also drop from Abyssea NMs. Head drops in Attohwa, Legs in Misareaux, and Feet in Vunkerl (corresponding to the same zones having the quests for those slots). NMs that drop Cirque seals:

Head (Abyssea-Attohwa): Mielikki, Blazing Eruca, Aggressor Antlion
Legs (Abyssea-Misareaux): Funereal Apkallu, Flame Skimmer, Nonno
Feet (Abysstea-Vunkerl): Dvalinn, Gnawtooth Gary, Lord Varney

* NMs can drop multiples of the same seal in one kill.
* Like the quests, these NMs have a chance to drop seals for four preset jobs, though not the same four jobs (DRK RNG RDM PUP) as the seal quests.

c) Resistance Ops.
As of December update, it appears Resistance Ops in the Scars zones can now reward players with head/legs/feet seals. Further information to come, please reply to this thread with any confirmed information.

d) Dominion.
Dominion quests/ops can reward players with seals for head/hands upgrades. Further information to come, please reply to this thread with any confirmed information.

III. OBTAINING THE JEWELS/STONES TO DO YOUR +2 UPGRADES

** This section to be updated as we find out more about the +2 upgrades for body/hands. Seems likely they might have to do with the higher tier NMs from the Dominion system and/or Heroes zone bosses/VNMs. **

+2 upgrade items drop from higher level NMs in Abyssea zones. Armor slot shares the same zone as the zone where seals come from for that slot. Multiples of the same upgrade item can drop from one kill, and multiple jobs share the same upgrade items. Key items for the popped NMs below are found in gold chests or from minor NM drops. Some other jobs do get +2 upgrade items from T3 Abyssea VNM drops, but PUP does not.

PUP items drop from:

Jewel of Vision (Head, Abyssea-Attohwa)
1. Titlacauan - Spawned by trading Blotched Doomed Tongue, Cracked Skeleton Clavicle, Writhing Ghost Finger, and Rusted Hound Collar (key items) to the ??? @ (F-7)
2. Ulhuadshi - Spawned by trading a Mucid Worm Segment and Shrivelled Hecteyes Stalk (key items) to the ??? @ (J/K-7)

Stone of Balance (Legs, Abyssea-Misareaux)
1. Cirein-croun - Spawned by Trading Glistening Orobon Liver and Doffled Porrogo Hat (key items) to ??? @ (H-5)
2. Sobek - Spawned by trading Bloodstained Bugard Fang, Gnarled Lizard Nail, and Molted Peiste Skin (key items) to ??? @ (J-11)

Jewel of Voyage (Feet, Abyssea-Vunkerl)
1. Durinn - Spawned by trading Decayed Dvergr Tooth, Pulsating Soulflayer Beard, Chipped Imp's Olifant (key items) to ??? @ (E-12)
2. Sedna - Spawned by trading Glossy Sea Monk Sucker and Shimmering Pugil Scale (key items) to ??? @ (K-6)

one thing to add that could be helpful, is the best repeatable quests to advance your fame to allow you to get the level 3 fame quests.

I know someone in my ls mention one but I didnt see it on wiki.

Any idea what the best repeatable quest woudl be to start the head quest?

That would definitely be a helpful addition - anyone been in Attohwa or Vunkerl? I've barely touched Attohwa since the update, and I haven't done any Vunkerl quests either (and since Vunkerl seems to need a higher fame level, maybe even more important to know what to focus on there).

The sausage quest for legs seals does have a helpful effect of getting you a bunch of Misareaux fame if you need it for other stuff.

Attohwa is easy just do Something in the Air Weyward wares + doing bastion op X7 = enough fame for An Acrididaen Anodyne avoided ponono's quest + hazy prospects (since miasma is always down).

As for vunkerl outside of repeatable bastion ops The Boxwatcher's Behest (heavy gives more fame) A Ward to End All Wards (Saved some items from abyessa mobs or found on ah some doesn't work.)

Thanks for the additional info, updated post with Vunkerl seal quest info. Keep the discussion coming! Looks like which NMs drop Cirque seals is the biggest remaining mystery, so if you see one drop please post here.

In Abyssea - Attohwa, Blazing Eruca drops Cirque Seal: Head.

I got one the other night when my LS killed it.

Trade an Eruca Egg to the ??? at J-10 (Along the south wall, a little west of the Martello).

I believe that the Atma weakness trigger (!!) is dancing edge, but I have not been able to confirm that yet. The first time we fought it, a few WS went off with the !!. The second time, we didnt have our thf there, and none of the other moves that were landing caused a !! to appear.

From the couple times we fought it, it appears that when it has its blaze spikes, melee damage will hurt it, and magic will heal it. But, when it drops its blaze spikes, melee will heal it, and magic will hurt it. Again, I have not been able to 100% confirm this, but that seemed to be what was happening when my LS fought it.

Quick observation that I hadn't seen posted anywhere, the Cirque +1 pants are glitched in the same way as the skill up merits are, so you can gain 5 more skill even if you are at cap.

If anyone cares, the TP bonus to the automaton appears to be a bonus 25% TP for it's weaponskills. <,< This is +1 though, hopefully the +2 has something a bit more worthwhile, like 100% TP.

Only 25%? Aww that's disappointing if true. It's still a Turban +1 that looks awesome, but as a long time Martial weapon user (Martial Gun on COR for uber Slug Shot) I was totally looking forward to letting my puppet get a taste of that 100tp bonus.

How was this tested to determine it is 25% bonus?

Here, I'll post what I wrote on BG for testing. It's quite possible it's a bit more, but from my limited observation of 2 TP = 1 more damage to cannibal blade, it looks like 25%, since it gives 12 damage:

"K, so I figured since we have no clue what the Ftp of Cannibal blade is, nor the mods other than that auto melee skill boosts it, and it's extremely stable damage, I figure I might as well collect data on it and see if someone can figure it out from there. Obviously, sneak attack is out, and pointless for this ws anyways, but I still want to do this on level 1 mobs outside town. How much info do we need? ws damage from 100%/200/300% TP? every 50% TP? I got myself to 5.0 TP per hit for myself, and I'm using tactical switch to give it to Oniwaka, so that is taken care of at least. Since each maneuver gives +7 to a maneuver excluding dark, which is what prioritizes cannibal blade, I figure I'll do a ws at 100% TP with two dark and 1 of another maneuver for each of the others to test mods as well. I'll also do a 100% tp ws with AF3+1 pants for 5 more melee skill for Oni.

Anything else I'm missing and need to do for this?

::Edit: test results::

Ok, here's the data I've collected on Cannibal Blade:

Automaton: Valoredge Head/body

@ 303/334 Melee skill (yes, yes, I suck, I know, but melee skillups come as often as guard. No, maybe less. It's THAT bad.)

Stats @ level 85:

STR: 88
DEX: 78
VIT: 87
AGI: 72
INT: 68
MND: 80
CHR: 81

Attack: Unknown, cause SE sucks like that
Defense: unfortunately all too known, ([VIT/2] + 8 + Level + 10), or in this case, 43+8+85+10 = 146 + 25% boost from optimization merits.

Anyways, all cannibal blades are used against level 1 bees outside ronfaure, to keep things even.

These are @ 303 melee skill, without any maneuvers to boost stats, and no capello TP bonus:

100%: 367 damage
200%: 416 damage
300%: 466 damage

From this, it looks like every 2 TP gives one more damage.

These are @ 303 melee skill, without any maneuvers to boost stats, and with capello TP bonus:

100%: 379 damage
200%: 428 damage
300%: 466 damage

From this, it looks like the capello+1 gives... a 25% TP bonus... ew.... I seriously hope the +2 gives 100% TP bonus, cause 25% seems kinda crappy when, out of your three most commonly used automaton weaponskills, armor piercer doesn't vary much with more TP (a little bit but not much), cannibal blade gains only 12 damage, and magic mortar should be doing 0 damage no matter your TP since your whm bot shouldn't be hurt. <.<;

These are all @303 melee skill, without capello +1 TP bonus, and various maneuvers to boost their related stat by 7. All were done at 100% TP.

STR +7: 367 damage
DEX +7: 367 damage
VIT +7: 367 damage
AGI +7: 367 damage
INT +7: 367 damage
MND +7: 367 damage
CHR +7: 367 damage

So it appears that none of the primary stats affect damage. Sadness.

Finally, cannibal blade, with Cirque pantaloni +1, +5 to melee skill:

100% TP: 367 damage...wait, whoops, I forgot to equip the pantaloni. FUUUUU :builds TP agonizingly slowly one one shot killed mobs again: Ok, with pantaloni this time: ...367.
300% TP: 466 damage...

Well @#%^, this seems to throw out everything we knew about cannibal blade out the window. I would need a pup with 334 (5/5 automaton melee merits, or 339 skill with 5/5 merits plus pantaloni +1) skill, to make sure this just isn't a reaaaaaaaaaaally tiny mod.

So, any math wizards wanna help me figure out the formula for cannibal blade, Ftp, and TP bonus on cirque head? I'm thinking perhaps it's related to either melee skill, or level of automaton, because at level 50 oniwaka did in the 200 range with it at 100% TP, but I'm not sure how to find this out. ><; "

Interesting, Never knew Cannibal Blade worked like that. I feel your pain on melee skill leveling... honestly; It's All it can do and it skills as often as you said, Guard. Watch SE give Valoredge a rather nice Weaponskill way up at 350 skill too XD

speaking of that, I realized last night that we have a pretty solid chance of getting new puppet WS next update.

Our current ws:
0/0/0/0
150/150/150
245/245/225
so I would wager:
VE/SS: 340 skill for new WS, around level 87
SW: 300ish skill for new WS, around level 87ish

I'm pretty certain 300 skill is too low for stormwaker. My harlequin has 310 melee skill with af3+1 pants, and he still only does magic mortar. :x

Then again, they'd have to update the automatons to actually have the weaponskills, so it's possible it will get it at 300 skill, but because the .dat isn't in the game yet, it's not able to do it, cause there's nothing there, lol.

i know i'll totally get creamed for this but i just join an abys party and send in my pldbot lol got me some good skillups and fairly quickly, i'm only about 7 to cap now at 87, do the same with sharpshot to catch up ranged skills but it pulls so much hate its a bit annoying having to use every tool to keep hate on me or him alive, but it works.

Granted it comes to a screeching halt the last couple levels but you get excited when you see that bar of golden text with a .3 or .2 auto skill up :D

Thanks for the info - added to the initial post.

A question to everyone that's relevant here too. I'm not looking forward to spamming boring quests for my head/feet upgrades, so... anyone had any good luck on NMs? Would be interesting to know party combinations, strats, etc.

A skilled rdm/nin and pup using spiritreaver can duo Gnawtooth Gary went /whm to assist with cures when needed. Rdm straight tanked it with cures/nukes. It has some sort of movement speed so as soon as you see hate flying off the rdm best to deactivate aero5 is deadly on it. Takes about 20mins. It can drop 2 feet seals.

Care to divulge a little more about your strat? or is it as simple as it sounds? I know a pretty Ace rdm who would love the blm feet seals that can drop...

Rdm/nin straight tanked it with /nin @ pop site (he has pdt- spell interrupt sets and haste) it got flaky at times this is when you should help heal (hate should never be on you if rdm has enough hate) if rdm keeps getting interrupted and can't cure himself since the thing has triple attack and unconfirmed en stone (someone on wiki claims it has) rdm keeps up mp with refresh2 ss and nukes every once in awhile when mp allows. Rdm can para/dot/slow it. I don't have pantin feet but every 3rd nuke (Usually Aero>water>aero) hate would fly off rdm this is when you should deactivate (Was near bushes so it takes about 3~ secs for it to reach your puppet hence it has some sort of movement speed) Each nukes was doing about 1.5k with atma on. It's wild carrot can heal up to 3k hp making it take longer to kill.

I remember someone mentioned about possible seals associated with specific gasponia for the AF head quest, at first i didnt believe it, and went 1/30 (ARGH) using the front two gasponia, closest to the 00 warp. Then tonight i saw that a bastion was going on so instead of injecting the front flower i run to do bastion, then eventually did one of the back flowers which got me a cirque head. I went hmm...did it again same flower, Cirque head >_> did it again but that flower was still full so i did the flower next to it, RDM head...came back to my "pup gasponia", got Cirque head... so PUP PUP RDM(cuz pup was still full) PUP....i'm totally sticking to this flower lol

Just wondering if anyone noticed anything like or are you just doing different/same flowers?

@ Eudoxian

Would it be possible to illustrate which specific flower is the "PUP Flower"?

Until it can be shown with overwhelming evidence, and not just random anecdotal reports from a handful of tries...

Random number generator is random.

If this gets like the ridiculous Wiki discussion page on the sausage quest, it's useless information. Otherwise, these claims don't look any different to me than some crackpot theory that you'll get more PUP drops on Iceday, facing East, between 12:00-2:00, with /THF subjob, while wearing a Glory Crown and eating ginger cookies.

sorry it was like 7am and i passed out, but funny you should mention it, it was ice day, and full moon last night when i did this, i went from 1/30 PUP seal, then last night now 7/8 seals and 5-7/8 seals on the other jobs, they were pumping out seals last night, and now i cant get a single seal to save my life.

I was asking if anyone else noticed this or if they tried diff flowers i wasnt blind leading the blind to this omg flower. But after 1/30, then suddenly 6 seals in a row (with a rdm sprinkled in between) i freaked out. I'm trying to get my final one now, i'll figure a way to say which flower it is via X's and O's i guess lol

Edit: ok warp to #00
visibly north west you see the first Gasponia between the SAM galka and elvaan PLD, run to it but dont touch.
Straight ahead behind it more W than NW is a bone structure, go stand on the spine. Facing NW
You should be able to target 4 gasponia, but really only see 3 in a triangle form.
It's #1 the most West at the tip of the (spikey spines?). That was my pup one that got me 6 in an almost straight row.

Ok edit again, my little map messed up when posted, hmm :/

Edit: apparently everyone now today isnt getting crap for seals but ALL got a ton of seals last night, during the full moon. people in LS say that and everyone running back and forth with me now on the mission.

Regarding the Capello +1, is it the general consensus that it's better to use Spurrer's Beret at this point when using a melee puppet? Is this more of a "when using a mage puppet" piece or to be macro'd in for puppet weapon skills?

Depending on your total haste build, i dont think spurrer even beats turban when you are meleeing along side your automaton... i dont have the numbers to back this up, but i would never EVER use spurrer over capello if im punching things with my auto, i believe that spurrer beret and shaolin's belt are an "im not meleeing but my auto is" kind pieces.

This is te math for Shaolin Vs. Cirque sash. well the anwser anywas unless ur delay is only 166 then Cirque is far better. :/ not sure way SE had to go and make all the Martial Arts gear we get gimp (aside from Kenkonken :D) 10,10,5 ; ; its just not nice. on the other hand havin gear that gives u -60 or -100 if u have Kenkon(80) would be a little unfair.

Does anyone have any math rather than speculation? I'm not trying to be rude, but I'd rather not base my gear set up on a hunch. It seems difficult to declare(with certainty) that 2% haste and 2% double attack for the master will outweigh 5% haste for a puppet.

Spurrer sh*ts all over walmart if your puppet is meleeing. Spurrer > Capello +1, Cappello +2 >/= Spurrer

You're not gimp, but you're wearing a turban +1(and there's nothing wrong with turban). It's just that Spurrer will give you more DoT in a lot of situations when using a melee puppet.

Anyone mind reminding me what is the difference between the +5 Pet Haste on the Anwig Salade and the +5% Pet Haste on the Spurrier Beret? Are they the same or different? I'm sure it's been discussed before I just missed it.

Anyone know the respawn on Keesha? Can't seem to find an answer. My guess is it's 60-90 minutes but would like a definitive answer.

Every time that I went to camp her, I'd go in 1 hour after her death, and she had already repopped, so the minimum repop time is under an hour.

After 100 kills I can definitively say that respawn is between 45-100 minutes after TOD.

I'd round it to 90 mins, but this matches fairly well with my experience as well

Grellow doesn't effect armor though, and for the record, 0/13 Smiley: glare

Is this really worth doing? Once we all realized how poor the MA was, everybody stopped caring... right?

EDIT: Personally, my new goal is Agasaya's Collar.
