Enhances MA effect, DAMN! Had no idea SE would take this route for PUPs. This pretty much nearly puts us on par with MNK in terms of attack speed. Assuming a PUP has these two items equipped, the two extra MA traits would make your base delay 320 vs a MNK's 300.

Neck piece is exclusive. The belt isn't. Although. Monks already have the king of all belt pieces. The amount of pet haste pup is getting is starting to scare me>.>

One thing I'm noticing is that there isn't anything from the new gear that is Pet: MAB+ or Pet: M. Acc for PUP. Plenty of Pet: Haste+ for PUP, but nothing for the BLM puppet.

BTW, I'm calling BLM puppet learning Thunder IV @ 78

Yeah I was thinking about the Pet MAB stuff too. It's a real big let down, but hey, I'm going to take it as indication that we might be in step with Blm's learning curve for the new V spells.

With this newest piece of gear, we can get up to 25% (overdrive) + 25% (3 wind maneuvers with turbo charger) + 2% (optic fiber 10% boost to other attachments with no light up, with decimals dropped) + 5% from spurrer beret + 3% from pantin hands + 3% from new belt, for a total of 63%! :o

Did I forget any other pet haste pieces?

Was only a few weeks ago someone remarked I had waghs instead of some magian trial. I just told them I can care less.

But now, now I feel like a relic from the past. Days long gone when me and the Stormwaker were out there giving me cure 4 and nuking stone 3 as we soloed colibri in our aketon at level 63. Days where I was proud a job with C H2H and a puppet with little pet gear could outparse most DDs on Byakko or Kirin. I do not miss the C H2H a single bit compared to anything else, but everything is different now. More has changed these last few updates than in the past 2.5 years from PUP where the most groundbreaking thing ever was the August 07 update with the frames and skill boosts.

I am a sad PUP now, I do not know what to think about all this awesome @#%^ing gear. Just want to go hide in Arrapago Reed with the Harlequin frame.

lol I agree, I JUST got some high end stuff that I worked hard for now they're obsolete, well close to obsolete lol. Just finished Wargfangs17 and Mantis ( Which now attacks on both fists THANKS SE!!! ) the HQ oat (2-3 )path is 19dmg , The mantis turns into that big chicken bone thing lmao 27base dmg O_O.

lately SE has been doing things we all go " SE will never do that for us " stuff o_o;;;

The MA Effects are an...interesting addition, don't think its worth the loss of Haste+%, but if the various pieces stacked, (two I saw excluding Mythic) I thought about the Wargfangs/Ursine claws.

I mean, two MA effects is -40 base delay, putting us at 320, Both are a whopping 140 delay putting it at 460 but with +19DMG and Occass. Hit twice. To me Haste sounds like the winner in general, but I'd thought of throwing this in to see if anyone had thought about it as well.

Side note: Go SE for adding pup in possibly useless gear (Ammo, Daggers with RATK....)

We got several. And why do these look terrible? Crit hit. Chance at additional tp from kick attacks when additional effect kicks in.

Then again, they could've possibly learned from their mistakes and allowed us to equip this while the Animator is in the ranged slot, but I doubt it.

I'm not a fan of the huge delay. I may be wrong, and if I am then I will happily eat my words and get a pair! But almost double the delay from current weapons (Waghs etc around the 50~ mark). I just don't think the kick attacks +7 will be enough to outweigh it. Though I have to admit I'm not sure how much kick attacks+7 would proc.

Going from like +51 delay to +96 delay is only a 45 delay increase, which is about 3/4ths of a second added to combat rounds. I'm not gonna do any number crunching, but I'd imagine in something like a merit situation where the mobs dont live for more than 30 seconds and your buffed up the ass, a 7% chance to get an extra hit compared to something like waghs or oberons would outweigh the extra delay.

although, I'm sure theres better things out there *coughwargscough*, and better things to come as well. I didn't exactly jump out of my seat when I saw those weapons anyway.

Not only is that a severe boost in base damage. But if it's varies with moon phase is anything like this.

As for a weapon, the OAT 2-3 times does sound sexy, but losing out on actual DMG on the other newer weapons such as Verethragna doesn't seem to equal out. Of course, I don't get into the intense math of things >.> especially for WS where you hit multiple times, and where the OAT doesn't proc. I dunno, that's just me. Don't kill me if it sounds completely stupid!!

I mean I am totally jealous of any Dual Wielders, because they can totally get an off-hand on that and have nothing to fear with DMG XD Lucky them!!

Now, I haven't played in at least a month and a half, but I'm fairly certain that if you go from an animator to an ammo item you don't lose TP. Going back to the animator will reset you though.

I was messing with a Morion Tathlum the other day and equipped it by accident but my TP didn't go away. wrong. I tried it with Meditate, hit meditate, swapped in my tathlum after two ticks and still got the appropriate 60 TP.

As I recall though, they changed it so swapping the ammo slot doesn't reduce your TP anymore but swapping your Ranged slot does. Equipping your Ammo slot causes the animator to unequip but I think it doesn't hit the "reduce your TP because you're swapping weapons" trigger. Because the animator can't be equipped with anything other than automaton oils, when you swap in your ammo slot, it unequips automatically, so it isn't subject to TP reduction. I'd try it again but uh, I'm not in a place where I can access FFXI at the moment.

Edit: Yeah, bsphil got it. Going to ammo won't Reset your TP but going back to the Animator will. So what'll happen is that you'll lose that returned TP every time you WS if you do swap the animator back in. A bit of a drawback for extra power in a WS.

Sorry you haven't been in situations where occasionally attacks whatever has almost gotten your group killed.(Particularly guilty is the almost always misused kraken club.) Personally the reason I want an alternative is for that reason.(That and high defense monsters where that low dmg count might hurt a little too much.) If you simply want to say, "No that's not my reason", there are better ways to go about it.


Any who the second best would be the new empyreon weapon or as BS phil mention the new Occasionly attacks twice h2h. But for particle obtainment the only one that is particle and good to dd in right would probably be the str based H2H from magian. Since the 2 avenger model weapons have not been found and savate fist is made from materials that as of right now only drops from an event no one wants to do.


Edit: Also the dragon kick enhancing h2h from magian offers some pretty decent DPS or you can get the slightly worse dps(2 less damage) stp one. Both should out perform weapons from 75 I think. I know they have better DPS but people who are better at this sort of stuff should probably give them the once over.

Personally the reason I want an alternative is for that reason.(That and high defense monsters where that low dmg count might hurt a little too much.) If you simply want to say, "No that's not my reason", there are better ways to go about it.


Well no, I wanted to say if there are pretty much about more than three people hitting a mob that are not two handed weapon users then TP feed does really not matter. One of those age old myths. When ever I see someone mention TP feeding I tend to just want to take all the VIT+ PLDs in their blueberry gear and bang the heads of each together.

Edit: Also the dragon kick enhancing h2h from magian offers some pretty decent DPS or you can get the slightly worse dps(2 less damage) stp one. Both should out perform weapons from 75 I think. I know they have better DPS but people who are better at this sort of stuff should probably give them the once over.

The only time I have enjoyed OAT or OA2-3 is on my COR, and maybe if I offhanded the one for BLU.
