As some of you may have noticed, our current sticky is out of date, and missing lots of key new threads. It hasn't been updated since Jul 15th 2008, so I'm gonna take the incentive to put a new one together.

I'm gonna link to the old one, of course, and probably use most of the links, dropping things with lessened value(read, nothing but out of date information, out of date gear guides, etc), and making it look snazzy as hell.

If I miss something, or I leave out something you think should be in, send me a PM and I'll look it over. Also, since a lot of the threads that need to be added have fallen back some pages, if anyone has links to them, that would be wonderful, since I can't remember all of them.

For now, this is under construction, I'm posting now after I've organized all the links in ragga's sticky, so I can be informed if he still reads the forum and just doesn't update the sticky any more before I waste time actually going indepth into the threads worth(certain threads that are blatantly old will still be left out of sorting)

Awesome idea to make an actually USEFUL sticky. And very, very smart to note the year of the threads.

Kind of inspires me to beef up my AF alternatives guide... Perhaps that's coming soon, adding the rest of the slots for an up-to-date comprehensive PUP DD gear guide.

I would get rid of the tanking threads. None of the strategies written were more advanced than "provoke the mob". The guy who wrote them spammed the forum with dozens of trash threads, then made a compilation to praise himself. Also, there's little excuse to tank anymore now that we have soulsoother.

The * threads can definitely be removed. The behavior of the stormwaker threads are well-outdated, as the AI is nothing like it used to be. I would rather have people use the wiki as a reference, and help improve it if there are errors.

Also Myrrial's PUP manaburning guide. I strongly criticized it at first, but lots of positive changes were made to it. It's pretty decent now. Some minor outdated mistakes though, like it was written before the optic fiber enmity fix and no mention of /SCH sub.

EDIT: I'd probably get rid of "4 new attachments TESTED" too. There's not really anything of interest in it. If people just want to know what an attachment does, I'd direct them to the wiki instead. The links here should be reserved for attachments that are difficult to test or have a large amount of data associated with them.

Nice, thank you! I am currently leveling pup and I am constantly searching for info and don't want to ask a question only to get nailed by the "oldster" pups that it has been asked a thousand times. It's been hard finding current info so yes, update please.

Well I don't mind that they tried to tank... it was that all the posts on the topic were really very bad. I tanked on my way to 75 too back then, but I learned a lot more from the experience. For example, I used my puppet to strobe-voke half-way after my own, so that I wouldn't lose hate towards the end of my provoke.

I didn't find a single useful tip like that in any of the tanking threads. All they said was to sub warrior and use evasion gear, which anyone with any tanking experience knows will not sustain hate.

So I'm really judging the threads themselves, not the topic.

Removed it. I knew when I saw enaru's name that the threads were something I remembered, but I couldn't put a finger on why. This was one of the other problems I ran into with Ragga's sticky, it's way to nice. He has a lot of useless threads that say the same thing, and his "no vulgar threads" rule is a bit prudish.

also, It'd be nice if someone would make a thread in =3, since the sticky sticky says that self nominations are bad, though I guess this post isn't much better

Unfortunately, I just don't have the free time anymore to go about fixing all these links, especially given that the method to do so is a bit convoluted. The biggest part is that they all need to be changed from the old forum title (/db/jobs.html?fjob=18;mid=) to the new forum number (/forum.html?forum=253&mid=), but the page and post number notation has changed as well, so it's a real pain in the ass to do. That, and a large number of them are outdated after the massive pupdates last march and again in december.
