that's an awesome feat :D Wish I had those kinds of opportunities. I have yet to hear of any shell that allows a pup to exist in their shell over here in caitsith unless you come to events 100% the time as WAR,BLM,WHM,THF,MNK to name a few popular jobs. Compounded by people in leadership roles that are hellbent on the idea that PUP has not evolved at all and relies heavily on old stereotypes of PUP.

I'll do some floor 80 runs with you if you'll do some floor 40 runs with me for my Denali legs on COR :P

Kame, not to be critical but if all those effects correlated, with the proper atma, buffs, food, and abilities, I could see 2k+ crits not being out of the question.

Picked up my Burts at 3am today.....omg so much fun!

They are additive, that being said...

I crit for 1200 with just +2 and aftermath. If you added in another 3x

400
400 (10% with full +2)
400 (no idea from aftermath havent seen any solid parses, and its off hand only)
400*3 (requires 300 tp, 5% chance to go off)

=2400


Problem is the aftermath dmg and the x3 dmg are hard to stack since you need to ws at 300 to get the good aftermath, then build back up to 300 tp to get the good dmg bonus from that.

Add in that you are talking about 5% *10% * aftermath%/2 (off hand only) and yeah it might be 1 crit per 1000 crits...but id totally screen shot it.

yeah but for a 5% chance, holding 300% tp for 120 seconds at a time seems so wasteful with all the dmg you could be doing.

tanked Iku-Turso with no issue. used valoredge, steam jacket and mana jammer, water dark water maneuvers, waterja waterga and malestrom ended up doing like 150-200 hp, atmas: ducal guard, mounted champion and atma of the lion
and of course burritos.

Wish me luck, i decided that im starting my Verethragna pretty soon, i was not going to build one because burattinaios where so amazing, we all know the rest. but nevertheless, its gonna be a hard road, but its gonna be worth it.

I had originally been working on a Vereth, but after seeing how much a PITA KIs are for Tahrongi, and not wanting to deal with static groups (as much) I've decided to go for Rev.Fists... luckily I had stopped during the NM stage once I had obtained Burat., so just 3 more Intulo, 8 other NMs, then VNMs to do...

So it only takes a couple days of grinding out WoE to get enough stuff for the fists for VS?
Cause atm with how my LS is I'm starting to think Vereth is out of the question xD

yeah you need to place one of the top 5, or get lucky and some people may follow seacoms ( the last 20 from 2 pouches no one had seacommmed so that finished me off and 5 extra ).

Yeah in my situation my schedule isn't stable, so I can't accept or make groups, I'd hate to miss events, not be there to help with other people's emps, and be on the afterburner never knowing if I'll get anything done with a set time ( For this game ). SO rev fists was my only real option, being able to do it whenever people were around.

If conflux 5 is open on your server, generally people go in there with pet jobs, mostly SMN and BST for hydra nm. you can usually place on the top 5 without too much trouble. I usually start out VEhead/SSbody and rake in some dmg in the beginning, while staying out of hurricane breath conal. Then nuking the hydra at the end.

Conflux 2 ( antlions )is good too if you have a good team going for clear, that one I saw alot of adv. coins come out of, good money maker too. I'm not sure how battle assessment works in WoE but I remember seeing a dnc/nin in the back doing nothing but buffing himself and throwing waltzes, steps, and for the most part stayed out of the action, at the end he placed first, so it may be similar to campaign and actions done, and capping all categories of points you can rake in.

I hear slimes is good too, I personally haven't done those much. The fists themselves are really nice. Hopefully the situation is similar to mine over there, I was surprised to see a good handful of people going in, for the most part, people following seacoms and not bombing runs / lotting everything just because they can.

If you can find 4 BST/SMNs to go with you in Conflux 5 in WoE, you're pretty much guaranteed first place on PUP. In fact, the fight highlights just how powerful Automatons are compared to Garuda or Dipper Yuly. Unfortunately, it also shows how fragile they are.

You can actually place high in the slimes too if you use your automaton as a hate dump. It dies too fast so using it as incidental damage and a dump for your hate so the big slime doesn't absorb your face is a good idea and will allow you to build a ton of damage far easier than most other DDs.

Yeah, if you're using Razed Ruins, Cavaros is certainly the way to go inside Abyssea. Even more so if you're also using Gnarled Horn and/or Sanguine Scythe. Outside, Vellaunus wins.

Speaking of back pieces... gonna take an unsolicited opportunity to trash Karagoz Mantle here. First off, if you need Acc from your back to cap Acc in today's FFXI on 99% of the content, you're doing it very wrong. Second, Pantin Cape is about to become a lot more available to everyone when CoP Dyna gets the "new Dynamis" treatment, likely in the August update. That's gonna cause Karagoz's price to drop like a rock even with (1) people who don't understand they shouldn't need extra Acc from the back slot and (2) people who only kept Karagoz around for something with pet stats and they didn't have Pantin. I can sum up my feelings about Karagoz as: sell it while you can still get some good money for it.

As for my achievement... Epona's Ring get! Along with Hecate's Earring for my COR's QD set. And two Card of Wieldance toward my Cirque+2 hands from Dragua. All off one brew :)

Hm, I'm not sure, Anza. If Voidwatch is a glimpse of the degree of difficulty we'll get on the stuff from 90 to 99, Karagoz will be a really good backpiece, probably the best. I've only fought the Puk NM in Ronfaure, but holy sh*t! Its evasion was crazy, I had like 60-70% acc (don't remember exactly) and poor Sancho almost couldn't land a hit. 600k is in today's econmy not that much (It's a nice chunk, but not super awesome), and the perspective of future super-evasive mobs is enough reason to keep it, at least for me.

Also, put things in perspective... Karagoz is only Acc+6 for the master, so it's not really gonna solve your issues if you're having accuracy that terrible. I'm kinda with Kayn on this - if you're in that bad of a spot, might not be something worth putting a melee focus on anyway, PUP might be better off on the backlines nuking with Spiritreaver and giving some support in that case.


On the automaton side, it's easier to deal with Acc issues in two ways:
1) As I just mentioned and like Kayn said, if it's that melee-unfriendly just use Spiritreaver (even if you yourself get in there and punch)
2) Focus on Acc attachments (particularly Target Marker if the mob is higher level so level correction is the issue) and go heavy on the thunder maneuvers. For VE, it has high melee skill anyway so you're probably not gonna be in that bad of shape. SS would benefit the most from Karagoz's Acc, but you do have two other puppet DD choices and you can still rely on attachments for a lot of help.

Plus, if you're struggling that badly for Acc with our now normal TP stuff like Cirque +1/+2 body/legs, a good Acc neck (Agasaya, Faith, PCC, even Cirque), etc... then 6 Acc from the back probably isn't gonna make that much difference anyway. If it was that bad, you might just want to do something like give up haste slots for Acc (it's not that crazy, it's what we used to do as a norm when PUP was massively Acc-deficient). Tokon Hachimaki instead of a haste head, Anguinus Belt instead of a haste belt, etc. Not something you'd want to do in most TP situations, but for something truly that hard to hit, might be worth it.

And finally... I have a feeling the Voidwatch NMs are something we're expected to grow into with lv95 and new gear, so although they may be high end now I don't really see all new content continuing to be that hard in relation to the players' levels. And even if that's not the case and more and more content is Voidwatch-level difficulty in the future, Karagoz is STILL likely going to take a dive in price once Pantin Cape is easier to get. So you can always pick it back up cheaper later.

I guess I'll edit my previous statement to say that unless you're planning to be a diehard lv90 Voidwatch fanatic for the next 2 months, sell Karagoz when you can. Because other than that, there's not really any content in the game where Acc in the back slot matters at all considering our other normal gear these days.

Anyway, congrats on the Vellaunus Kayn. No matter what, that's a nice new pickup :D
