Making haste work with Tocis setFollow

Okay, I know I need the HQ head (its my next big purchase) and the twilight belt (still need that clear as well, egads!)... I am just wondering what else makes a Toci's harness work for TP... I am wondering if it even makes sense to switch out my AF3+2 in TP before I can replace the lost haste. Does the loss of haste on the body destroy me for TPing until I get a few more key pieces?

Currently using

-Ocelmoh head (NQ)
-Toci/AF3 +2 body
-AF3 +2 legs
-Athos boots
-Atheling Mantle
-Epona's Ring
-Tyrants Ring (not sure if this is the best I can do atm either)
- NQ +attack earrings (forget their names)/ X1+ Hecate's earring if I will be using a lot of magic in quick succession
-Pwer belt (I know the meeble belt is better but I'm kind of hoping to actually quest that myself and put the money towards other upgrades or just get twilight)
-Aurora Gloves (going to update this to dusk +1, that makes sense in the short term, right? Since other higher haste gloves are pricey/non-existent)
-Mantis Eye in ammo slot (could this be better? Is hasty pinion at all worth it given my desperate need for haste?) - I also have the throwing weapon dropped by Pil, some satchets and random other ammo items from other jobs, feel free to recommend something different.

I know there is some quested stuff I need, that's on the list for when I finish it (CoP/Zilart)... feel free to recommend for or against those as well though.

I also need to admit this, I am not sure what stats etc. I should be gearing for in TP phase? Like, is attack only for WS? Basic basic advice would be appreciated.

Also keep in mind while it's fine to recommend uber stuff, I'm not in the market for thaumas stuff etc... basically I'd appreciate advice on items that I can get from AH/meeble/Abyssea/Voidwatch over r/ex stuff from legion/neo-nyzul. Looking at neo-salvage it seems at least somewhat feasible that it is something I could get into in the near future (reports have it not being too terribly hard) - so some side recommendations from that would be fine but I'm finding it super hard to even get people on meeble so, more near term solutions would be welcome (along with say... "this is better when you can get it")

Also apart from a magian fire sword (which I should get working on) - what's a few easier to obtain swords that are half decent?

huh those diablos gloves are nice. They aren't something I'll be able to get in the short term though. What I really need is a real endgame shell I think. It's just too hard trying to get decent gear while in casual shells. My one shell is decent but has less than 10 people active at any time, and people go on breaks all the time, leaving me hanging. The other one is way too casual and I don't know anyone well enough to do anything serious. I'd love to make an empy for example, but I just don't have time to shout up people every step of the way.

Don't use the hastely pin its worthless, the extra 1% haste isn't worth the -stp. Really the only easy things in the short term are the Dusk +1 and maybe go after the haste sword from Aello either the HQ would replace the lost haste on it's own or the NQ will make up the lost haste with the dusk + gloves. Only other options you already know about is arch omega. Arch omega is of the easiest of the V2 mobs and any decent limbus shell can clear him with out to much trouble.

IIRC you have bst, could solo the emp mobs on bst. Procs would suck but if you got time and lights in a worm party you could kill till you get the KIs. I did that on blu soloing the KIs proc when I could and if I didn't have the proc just killed and hoped that was at 95. It would be slow no doubt about it but it's better then no progress at all.

Personally, I really recommend putting a high priority to complete your missions for Suppanomimi, Rajas and Brutal for TPing. (Actually most of them can also be kept in slot for WSing)

I'd think those are some of the easier options for you to pursue solo/low-man, and should be pretty significant upgrades compared to what you wear in those slots.

For the sword question, you could work on AGI+Evasion or Vit+PDT swords that you could off-hand until you get better. Agi's one looks ridiculously easy to make during the summer months thanks to near constant wind in the Thickets.

Also could look for the INT+MAB ones if you really want an easy one to make. Constant ice weather makes it a breeze, and gives a nice boost to Sanguine Blade.

Easy... yeah not really easy for a non R/M/E player... I specifically noted I wasn't going for NNI sets. Until that event doesn't practically require cheating, I won't be doing it. I'm well aware that thaujamas are considered the best of the best. I can read everyone drooling all over them. I was asking for suggested gear from lower tier events (WoE, Abyssea, Trial of the Magians, meeble, middle tier voidwatch etc) I actually specifically noted that I am not in the market for Thaumas stuff.

I'd like the pretty blue sword but I haven't unlocked providence watcher yet. Nevermind the fact that no one ever shouts for it anymore anyway. Maybe once they allow weakening items it will pick up again.

I've also stated above that I am -not- working on an Almace. If I can get enough of the items from WoE I will probably make the WoE sword, but I don't have anyone to help with empy farming and I don't have time to solo it (well I guess if I wanted to do nothing but farm an empy in my limited spare time I could do it, but real life is more important to me than a game, also the game would cease to be fun if I was trying to burn up an empy - which I said above but you clearly didn't read it)

While you didn't actually state you refused to make Almace (in fact you actually said you wanted advice on gear from Abyssea), you're not going to find anything "easy" that's better than STRx2 or STR+Sanus.

For TP, Saeval's advice is the best you'll find on Toci's and Haste. TP stats are generally Haste, TA/DA, STR/Att, and Acc, roughly in that order depending on what you're targeting (Pil and Ig-Alima favor Acc for example).

As for Neo Nyzul, getting 80 can be expected with a good group, in good gear, without cheating. With the previous update, you only need 5 wins per piece, so don't just discount Thaumas quite yet.

And you really should think about getting an Almace.

You are vastly overestimating the difficulty of getting an Empy weapon, considering I did it on that same schedule of 3-4 nights a week with 1-3 hours a night. I, too, did not want to bore myself with farming it, so instead of burning it out in a few days, I did it once a week or every other week and it was still only over the course of a few months. All that's "needed" is a NIN friend, and if you don't have that (or a MNK friend), good luck getting anything easy in Abyssea.

No one can make you get an Almace, and no one cares if you don't, but stop pretending like a level 90 Empy is a herculean feat. This isn't epeen, it's pride in your job you chose to level.

Almace and Thaumas were brought up because getting it is easier than you claimed, not because you didn't know it was the best. Two seperate issues. "Wah, I have no friends." isn't actually a good counter-argument for the former. I already ignored the latter because you obviously got that.

And the two people that brought up Almace and Thaumas did answer your questions with alternatives or with basic stat advice. You can step off your soapbox with the whole "can't actually help with the question" line of reasoning.

You're right, next time I'll try to answer a specific question with a specific answer.

There's a hat from Meebles that looks dreadful, but has incredible stats for blu. Nemetona Cap: Haste +6%, 13str, 7acc, 7att. Also a 5% haste body option, cheruski needle ammo for 3str/2dex, and a ring with 6str/3acc.

I played Meebles for the first time last night and had a blast. I'll try to send you a tell next time
I get the chance to play it. Very short runs, exciting fights/challenges, and some very nice rewards. Also still trying to get a group together for NNI.

I've been really relaxed with doing trials on STR sword since I started it early december, as in logging as usual and seeing darkday up and deciding to burn a few mobs on fireday in abyssea mostly, never sheduling ahead for it, and I just finished the 250 manticores trial so it's not that bad to do, especially when you can kill 50-80 solo easily per day, many more if ppl team up so it's worth considering too :)

And for NNI equip, I have some weird playtimes that don't really fit with the usual weekday evening/weekends statics so I just bought the wins in the end (been doing dynamis/limbus/VW for money when I play alone) and I must say that i'm not disappointed with the results(6 wins on 8 runs,got 12/15 pieces, all those I needed too) so don't discount NNI gear yet :)

I was able to cw down 200 birds solo in about 3/4 of a vana day.
Cw burning makes most trials very quick.

thanks for the input guys. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play -at all- for the last week. It's a long weekend and I have a wicked toothache (so not going to be good for much) so maybe I'll be able to get on and get to work on some stuff.
