Magic Fruit 0 for 100 or more.Follow
Anyone have a problem getting Magic Fruit ? Been at it like all weekend ,worse than getting self destruct.

It's just how learning Blu spells is. Sometimes you'll have amazing luck and go 1/1 on them, then there are some that, even though all the conditions as far as Blue Magic skill are met, you'll just not learn it for a long time. It took me two weeks of almost constant farming in Sea before I was able to learn Disseverment, and I've had a couple similar streaks of bad luck with other Blu spell learning in the past. All I can say is just keep at it.

Yeah some have been 1/1 , does the blue magic skill level have any bearing on the luck I am having ?

No, it doesn't improve the rate of learning spells. What Blue Magic skill does for spell learning though is determine when you can learn a spell though. Rather than Black Magic or White Magic spells, which have a set level upon which you can learn them, for Blue Mage it's your Blue Magic skill that determines when you can learn a spell. So even if you're, say, lv. 58 trying to learn Magic Fruit, if your skill is only as high as a lv. 30 Blue Mage's, then you won't be able to learn the spell.

Ah , so my skill level is 159 , max skill level for a blue at level 58 is 193 , so Magic Fruit can be obtained at skill level 163 ? So the 200 monkeys I killed would never have given me the spell till my skill level hits 163 , but on the bright side I've been skilling up my blue magic and getting xp and if I get the page from the outpost for every 10 monkeys I kill I get an extra 920xp and some page points and 920 gil.

Just wait till you get to some of the HNM spells, spamming amphiteres, vampires, and cerebus' is not fun.

Are you referring to how often they use Magic Fruit or just learning it when they do?
I had a hard time learning Magic Fruit, and Infrasonics too. The number of TP moves a monster has played a big factor for me. Opo-opos & Lizards have (i think) about 8 TP moves each, which made it a hassle compared to some spells from monster families with few TP moves. Dimensional Death was a breeze!

Frenetic Rip isn't the most fun in the world either, cause it's only used situationally. I don't even remember if you can intentionally break their horn, or if you have to just get lucky, and then hope you learn the move.

Crit hits can cause horns, weapons, tusks, etc for Aht Urhgan - based mobs to break. The higher the level of the player vs. the imp improves the break rate, and, while it's hard to tell definitively if it's the case, it seems just from eyeballing that attacking on the side that the instrument or weapon is being held or carried might improve the chances of the horn breaking.

Magic Fruit was also my worst spell... it's not just you. I had terrible luck with White wind as well. Had to kill the NM Puk in Aby-Altepa 10+ times before I learned it.
Then again, I had incredible luck with some spells. It really is random.
