Perp Gear QuestionFollow

With empy gear, having your avatars out, it is quite common to actually get mp back. I don't have the ToTM staves and I get back 7mp per tick with all avatars out. The ToTM staves allow you to adjust your gear so that you can put in more refresh pieces if you so choose, or more pet attack/acc stuff to increase your damage output.

I /rdm, so I have refresh.

HQ Stave / Vox Grip / some ammo item (can't remember the name)
Caller's +2 / Caller's / Caller's / Gifted
Caller's +2 / Summoner's +2 / Evoker's / Fervor
Tiresias' / Diabolos' / Stearc / Caller's +2

I have legs, but I use the Stearc when I am solo'ing for the extra refresh tic. I can also throw on my serpentes cuffs during the night for another tic if needed.

I don't have all the best stuff yet, like the haste belt, some esper items and I don't have different sets for Idle w/o pet, Idle with pet, pet tp phase, etc. I am sorely gear strapped and having all of the mage jobs, I really just keep smn pretty simple. I use whatever gear I already have + empy +2.

I only wear the stearc when my avatar is just attacking and not even all the time. I only wear them if I get low on MP (not in Aby or VW with unlimited MP) and I am doing blood pacts constantly. I switch to my caller's +2 for actual blood pacts. So I have Idle > - blood pact time > blood pact gear.

As far as how often boon procs, I honestly have no idea. I don't pay that much attention >.>

So with all the people using the Blood Boon earring / etc, are they wasting their time? Are there better items for those slots? Perhaps something that grants other types of bonuses? In the short time reading up on it, everyone seems to think it's the best earring for the slot, and diabalos rope is very popular for blood boon reasons as well.

Would one be better simply using refresh, or straight HP or MP + gear in those slots, or is there something else you should be looking to fill those slots with (I'm assuming haste doesn't benefit summoners except during actual summoning).

From the quick overview here it seems one could get AF3+2, some common -perp gear like the ring and elemental staves and be pretty well off. But what would a person use in those other non -perp slots if not the Blood Boon items? (particularly in regards to the belt and earring, but also the other ring slot)
