Smn brewFollow
I was curious about how Smn does trying to brew. I don't play Smn so I'm not too familiar with the job but my friend has Smn leveled. I was just wondering what Avatar and Bloodpacts would be best to use if you were to brew with a Smn.

Brew does not affect avatar, so no Blood Pacts. Don't even bother summoning an avatar if you use a brew.
It's basically like any other job: elemental weaponskills reign supreme. Cataclysm is awesome, Earth Crusher works well too.
For Cataclysm, I've found the best atmas to be Cosmos, Smiting Blow, and Griffon's Claw. If you're missing any of those, standard MAB atmas like Ultimate also work well.
Cataclysm will do about 11k to Shinryu with wings down.

Just a quick question from someone who relatively new to abyssea.
What buffs do we share with our avatars exactly?
I know atmas are shared. But what about the Status Enhancements from cruor prospector?
And the temp items, like Stalwart's Tonic? Does that also boost our avatars?

Cruor buffs and temp items that don't directly say they affect pets (like the Salve temporary items) will not affect your avatars.

Yeah what Vlorsutes said. Basically atma is it. Clear salves & Healing salves are I think the only other things that affect avatars.
Atma is enough though! You have to keep in mind, avatars were built with very little stat modification. They're not used to having huge STR and DEX builds and such like melees are, so they've always been given huge modifiers to compensate. Those modifiers work to our advantage when we apply atma. STR+50 from Voracious Violet gives ridiculous boosts to Blood Pact damage, for example.
