Partying SMNFollow

SMN burn party: love it.

SMN soloing: love it.

SMN main healing: makes me long for the excitement and variety of rdm/whm...

Is there a way to party SMN that doesn't involve spamming cure 3 and regen? Any jobs I can duo or trio with that will work well with a SMN? Or is this just what it is, and I need to adjust to the fact?

Thanks in advance.

DRG's, PUP's..BST's any job that can handle itself to an extent are fine for duo's. Small parties with a dnc, but this is just me and what I've played with over the years.

It is all in the mind of people.

A SMN can easily play the role of a DD-support, who melee and buff. The problem is that you'll rest, which puts you in the same category as PLDs and BLMs.

Many people don't think you can melee due to your staff rating... but you don't see them question if a COR can shoot or if a PUP can melee, both with lower ratings.

It is a really old job, but very few have even explored it yet.

resting is fine, MP does'nt take long to recover if you have a good HMP set or bring supplies. Play to your strengths etc.

I played DD/Support for a majority of my parties. The parties were comparatively less efficient though, but quite fun.

They don't. We do.

Our MP is a bigger asset than some minor melee damage and it's only at later levels it can even be considered viable, let alone usable. Plus gear selection is crap. Spirit Taker is ironically decent, though, given the one-hit acc boost and MND/INT mods.

Didn't asset imply something positive? I can only recall it used when relating to breasts though.

You are correct and he used it correctly also. He's referring to the fact that SMN MP will offer more "bang for your buck" than just melee, resulting in SMNs using MP (if they want to deal damage) which results in a need to regain MP, which results in resting.

Am I correct?
