Is there any good information on how few people can bring down chloris (or if it can be soloed?)
A Mnk/War and a Whm could duo it without much difficulty. The Mnk would just basically ride Counterstance to handle Chloris's Hundred Fists, and would need some Holy Waters to deal with Fatal Scream (an AoE Doom effect). The Whm would just cure the Mnk and toss out Cursnas to help with the Doom (if he/she wasn't hit with it too). You'd want a THF for the sake of Treasure Hunter to boost the chances of two buds dropping, but the lowest number I could see anyone killing it with would be two people.

DRG/SAM, he doesn't hit hard at all. Furthermore, if you have Atma of Roaring Laughter or even Atma of the Gnarled Horn, you could manage quite well. All other Atma's can remain the same: VV + RR, and or VV + RR + Apoc, whichever you prefer. I myself have done this with VV + RR + Apoc.
Honestly though... it's such a long task to gather 50 of those things, best to just have a small group of friends along for the ride. A good WHM, a THF, and 2-3 DD is all you really need. Holy Waters are also a nice bonus to have. But anyways, any well geared smart DD can tank this with appropriate Atma's, and Abyssite by no means are you in danger of tanking on DRG, WAR, DRK or whichever it may be.
*You also have a large assortment of temp items, Doom Screen, Fanatic's Powder are some that are worthwhile for this fight.
*If you're really desperate to solo this, you could always brew it. If you have Shinryu's stuff... you could always just go nuts by yourself... literally...

Cure IV is a terrible substitute for Cure V/VI. You might be able to do it, I don't know, but it's just so much easier with WHM instead.

It really comes down to what you have geared, Evasion tanking is really nice for low manning. Regardless if it's on THF or NIN. Both do quite well, as for SCH in low man situation's I'd say no. WHM is really indespensible, but if it's what you can offer as support, then that's fine. However 2 WHM > 1 WHM 1 SCH, I do it with 1 WHM 1 RDM.

THF or NIN would be your best bet here. THF brings TH but NIN is going to farm and kill pops somewhat faster. Both benefit from Gnarled Horn and NIN's Yonin will add additional counter if you have Iga Hakama +2.
SCH/WHM is definitely not an adequate substitute for WHM main.
I was actually curious towards how a NIN/MNK would do on this, but I haven't been able to try this combination on any monster yet due to my ninja still being 76 and my monk being level 18... Would anyone happen to have any experience with this job combination in abyssea? I've been wondering how counterstance works with monk as a sub.
Otherwise I'm pretty well prepared for this, since my fiance has whm leveled lol... I know I can grab a friend for TH too if I really want.

NIN works, evasion set up of course, and or pdt set works too. It really depends on how well you're geared for something like that.
Either way, NIN/WAR, or NIN/MNK should work perfectly fine. He isn't difficult, he was hard back at 80, now it's just rather silly.
When I fought him recently, we had: WHM RDM MNK THF DRG, hate was all over the place, but nothing bad ever. We all died at the end due to doom hitting everyone- and not really caring to get spam cursna since we all had apoc :D

Well I finally got around to doing Chloris today as NIN/MNK and it actually worked out really well. Most of the time I evaded and I didn't even have to worry much about countering since I almost always had shadows up (though it was a really nice help to have mnk sub, so I do suggest it if it is available to you). It barely even hit me at all with an evasion settup, even during 100 fists.
I used Razed Ruins, Gnarled Horn, and Apocalypse atmas. Always kept on Yurin: ichi and Myoshu:Ichi so the monster would barely ever use any TP moves. All in all a fun fight and definitely duoable. :)
I did it with a small group, my bf as summoner and my friend as whm to both spam cursna on me for doom, while I used as much holy waters as I needed from my inventory (for three fights I used about 20ish maybe). I had two other friends helping me just with triggers as well.
But anyway, in case anyone was curious about how nin/mnk is on that fight I just thought I would post about it. ^^ And thanks again for the tips, guys.
This fight is easy but sadly I find the hardest thing to do is farm the darn pop... That takes me about 3+ hours to get a full popset for 4~ people. =(

I saw a JP PLD/THF (yeah, I know, right?) taking it down solo today (brew-less of course). Don't really know anything about his setup other than that he was packing Excalibur, but I thought it was pretty impressive nonetheless.
He *almost* got taken out by doom even with constantly chugging waters at one point. So yeah, it's a risk.
I'm currently doing Chloris myself on MNK and this NM is a joke. Go on THF, bring a healer of any kind and get a MNK friend to tank, counterstance is just too epic vs. hundred fists.
The only hard part about this NM is getting the KIs to pop him, which takes about an hour for full set. Killing NM is about 5 min max if you dont proc anything (read: healer wants Augur's)

im not gonna lie, mnk is pretty nice for this. counter is hot. any sort of dd can kill it. main thing needed is a good healer and shouldnt have any problems. if you can though, and this is ideal, get a war to retaliate it. i had a 85ukon war kill chlor before blood rage wore off. ive had gimp war's kill it under 5mins. war is ideal. but really, its more of a factor to have a good whm than it is what dd youre on

Chloris is such a douche. Any mob where you have a decent chance of just dropping dead because you're doomed and you're getting unlucky with cursna/holy waters is mean spirited >:(

I'd say he's more of a douche because of how ridiculously long it takes to pop him. I'll gladly die all day long and delvl if I could just pop the damn thing faster :3
On the bright side, it gets so much easier after him it's not even funny. It goes from like 8 NMs for Chloris (assuming no pops for other NMs are bought), down to 2 NMs for Ulhuadshi, down to 1 NM for Dragua. I'd rather have that than something like kannagi, which goes from super easy solo gigas, to gukus aery, to Apademak.
