Hey guys, i had some minor questions since i'm a little bummed out at the moment.
Little back story:
I had to solo all of my 50 Carabosse Gems since it didnt drop anything of value, and i didnt want to screw other people out of drops, but with Cirein now it's diffirent.
Four +2's to hand out, zone win for those who need, and some accessoires, that is good.
What isnt good is that i can't seem to get people worth crap to come.
Already had a pop on me, (and i already solo'd 2 Cireins before that for 4 lanterns), but it's just too slow. I figured i'd shout so that we could knock out 4~5 pops in one go. Filled up on people nearly instantly, but then trouble hit. I fear they may have been retarded. No one could grasp the concept of if a BLM (me) has hate and sleeps a mob, that you dont suddenly engage it, start swinging at it and run after it while it starts wailing on the BLM. Not to mention they wiped on frogs even before Heqet spawned, and since i already had the KI's, that was a major waste of an aggro claim...
So, my problems:
A. It's so incredibly crowded at Cirein. There's almost always 3 of them up at one time. Are there any times (ofcourse differs per server) where you noticed fewer people there? Might as well just solo if i can get reliable Heqet claims.
B. I noticed i could get people for it pretty easily, however i made the rookie (panicked) mistake of instantly taking the first people who threw me a tell, since i remember the times where i had to wait 2 hours to form a complete group. Advice?
C. I cant clear frogs easily enough by myself in between Heqet spawns. Apparently bringing a group didnt speed it up much either... Any good way to deal with them, without losing the Heqet claim?
(Or could be a bit sneaky and "let" it go yellow and have others work for my KI i suppose, but strangely enough, no one falls for that trick anymore)

Its strange you think CC is slower than Carabosse. Carabosse is easy, the only downside to her was that she took a while to kill sometimes.
A. I can't help you here.
B. Be clearer on strategy to your party. Define roles for people, tell them exactly what you want them to do (which mostly should be: "Stand on the bridge and watch"). If you are pulling hate as BLM and you aren't manaburning it, something isn't right with your strategy. Cirein is a very easy melee/mage duo. Maybe don't load up on people? I mean that is Abyssea 101... the more people you have beating on the mob the more likely it will own you with TP moves.
C. Pull Heqet up hill into apkallu, sleep links. That's how my wife and I always handled him as a melee/mage duo.

Depending on comp, claim Heqet and kite him past flux 00, the adds should deaggro and you can reclaim Heqet if he goes passive.
We do it this way to clear adds and also to make sure the right person gets claim.

Hmmm, that sounds interesting. However, i asume you mean kite them away far enough that they dont hit you for a certain amount of time, and thus auto-magickally despawn (as normal mobs do), or is it more of a distance from original pop area thing?
I guess i could make a run towards the birds tunnel and see how far i get. Taking advantage of simply jumping down the cliff at spiders as i go, for pathing purposes. Best way would ofcourse be for the claimer to pull away the frogs while a second person deals with Heq, but oh well. No such luck :)
If it works reliably, it would help tremendously. It's not that i cant cut a path through frogs, or stand there with five of them poking me, but it's just plain anoying. By the time i've killed the 6th or 7th, the first one will respawn and it's an endless cycle from there. Simply depopping them would be brilliant.
If you have a blu with you get them to sleep/nuke them down. I did that for my friends last time we did Heqet. My gear isn't superb or anything and I wasn't wearing nuke atmas, but between whirl of rage, yawn and charged whisker - along with some self heals, I was able to hold and kill all the adds while the tank/whm worked on procs/the nm.
Mainly you just need to get a decent sense of what people you are bringing can do. It can be tough to ask people questions but as long as you are very clear about what you need, and clear about communicating that, you should be able to pull together decent groups.
Though I wouldn't expect most people just needing a zone clear to be able to do much more than hold a KI and maybe toss out a cure or two (or tag a mob with TH for you), there isn't any reason not to bring them, if even to just be nice. But have to ensure that people brought as a favour to them understand their role is to simply stay out of the way, maybe open chests by guessing combos or something if they don't have keys.
