Im really hoping that with Hero's of Abyssea add. we get another trial for WS keitonotachi. cuz 10% -> 20% would be EPIC
If the AF3 armor is anything of an example, these weapons may be upgraded to a +2 version, but who knows.
If anything, it is a nice easy holdover, and doesn't take very long to complete. I've also made about 50 BS, and 35 KS in the mean time, which is a nice chance at a few mil, and a sure chance at 300k.
I'm on the last trial and should have it completed by tomorrow. Currently SAM 83.5; when I reach 85 I'll give as much feedback about the weapon as I can. From the limited testing I've done so far, on EP mobs in no STR gear, the dmg is literally equivalent, the kasha + 10% bonus does pull slightly ahead. Overwhelm by far stacks in Hagun's favor.
Quick story time:
I was meriting earlier for about 3 hours,[guess I should say leveling now, old habits...] in Abyssea Kons. on those lovely Wivres.[Its a great camp by the way, really amazing to see 9 + wivres being pulled, slept, and our THF went right back out to get more, because they would all be dead within a couple of minutes. Very terrifying with all of that mass around you, lol]
Sam1 - full usu, hagun; tp'd in standard r/e: justice, brutal, bushi, rajas, flame, no v belt [WS'd in full usu... wruuuuuu]
Sam2 - me standard turban/haub+1/dusk/byakko/fuma/bushi/raja/swift/etc [ws gear
here ]
Sam3 - Pretty much the same as me but he had Ace's
Sam4 - full perle, soboro, didn't check him
With hasso, haste, double march, and 10% haste samba... I literally could not keep up with the amount of TP I was being given. 3 out of the 4 sams in the ally were all still using Hagun, while I swapped back and forth between 10% kasha Keiton, and Hagun. The fourth sam was using full perle and Soboro. DoT was obviously superior for Keiton, WS numbers were fairly even, but any TP overflow and Hagun went !@#$%@#$^@^!#$^ numbers. I never broke 1k on Keitonotachi, but hit 1k+ several times on Hagun at 100-110%, with a high of 1.5k, sitting around 685 attack SAM82/NIN41 at 140ish% TP. All the 200% haguns resulting from sekkanokis were at a flat 1k.
I point this out because many times in abyssea you cannot get a killshot, and your TP must be held.
MANY OTHER TIMES IN HIGH HASTE SITUATIONS there is such TP overflow that you miss a hit [or a double attack] and are left with the tp. I'm one of the sams that when allowed to /WAR will voke, and moving to the mob for overwhelm. When I'm /DRG or /NIN, I'm shadowing the PLD or first voker, making sure I move as little as possible, and busting out that overwhelm the first second I can. Even being agressive, with great buffs, and a great backline, not all things are as simple as theory or mathcrafting would predict. A parse is a great tool to judge your own accuracy, your gear choices, your food choices. It can be misleading to apply a mathematical situation in the void, against the actual reality.
Food yellow curry buns [atk down,] full timed hasso as much as I could without being a burden.
TL;DR? -- I'll test the weapon more when it's unlocked. I suspect additional trials will further cement its position ahead of our old compatriot. I still carry Hagun, and I probably always will because I like it [I still have Magoroku lulz.] If you haven't checked out the Wivre camp, do so. Nothing like the ground shaking madly while you and 3 other samurai brethren storm and SC the sh!t out of things and dirty devilish blackmages make them all disappear from your skillchains.
