I am finally closig in on Ninja 75 (2k to go) and was wondering about this katana. Looking around WG I have only seen 3-4 ninja with them equiped. So just from observation this is not a popular or useful weapon. Then I saw one of the Sackholders in one of our local HNMLs wearing a pair. His gear was built around haste, Walmart, Dusk Hands +1, Sonic Belt, etc. I wish I had written down his augments, but I'm wondering is there any value in Dual weilding 2 base 190 delay katanas, with the main one having the max damg augment of +5 so main hand damage would be 32 and max accuracy of +8?

I know from my Thf that below a certain delay I can theroitically get TP faster, but thf with triple attack and Brutal is so random on TP gain it is not something that makes a real impression during gameplay.

My gear once I hit 75 for TP will be:
Walmart: 5%
Dusk NQ: 3%
Swift: 4%
Byakkos: 5%
Fumas: 3%
so only a total of 20% haste.
Plus I have Suppa/Brutal for ear
and chose a Mirke with Dual Wield +3
Only a few things could speed me up, Dusk hands +1, Speed belt or try and stay at 75% Hp for Shinobi ring. If the Tsukumo has at least +5 accuracy then replacing a ring might be an option, but IDK.

Tsukumo with 33 (27+5) damage +8 acc paired with Perdu blade is the haste build I'm aiming for, with my full DW build (-45%) gives:

Damage: 32/32
Attack: 0/10
Acc: 8/5
Delay: 209(380)

That's not yet factoring, +7sTP +15% eq.haste and 15%DA.
Can anyone help with math on final delay? I'm kind of rusty.

Well, with DWIV, 15% extra DW from gear, and 20% haste, you'd be looking at:

(380*.55)*.80=167.2

With the haste spell and 20% haste gear, you're looking at 138.85 delay.

Now lets add dual march into the mix..94.05 delay o.O

So, without any outside haste you'll be swinging once a little under 3 seconds, and with the haste spell you'll be swinging just a little more then once every 2 seconds..and with march you'll be swinging about every 1 1/2 seconds.

Very nice...death by 1000 papercuts. lol

Nonsense..As a kid, in the winter..

But yeah, I feel pretty stupid about that one ;)

So lets change that

DWIV+2, with 20% haste gear 182.4

DWIV+2, with 20% haste gear&the haste spell 148.2

DWIV+2, with 20% haste gear&the haste spell&Dual march 102.6

still pretty good stuff

eh, i prefer my senju/perdu combo. its a little slower but sometimes slower is better if you hit more often and for more dmg. i use mke bike helmet and acp murky watercolors. i lose 2%haste from head and 2%dw from body but gain 20acc 5att 5str 5dex(af+1) and 5agi.

so, with my setup i have a delay of:

(417*.62)*.80 = 206.8

+ haste = 168.0

+ haste & dual marches = 116.3

soooo, 116 vs 102 delay in high haste environment.

i can spare 14 delay so my blade:jin doesnt hit like a little girl. with that amount of haste you are probably at like 120+ tp by the time you swap in ws gear and hit your ws macro anyway. any benefit you get from that extra delay reduction is defeated by human reaction time.

I aggree that your choice of 20ACC, BD, fSTR & att is arguably better than the faster option, but you'd be ok hitting Jin's with 102 Delay with scripted macro's however.

Things get even more fun when you add 10% Haste Samba into the mix. It bring your S/P delay with the DW Mirke & 10acc/3haste head setup down from 116.3 to 95.7

ACC is, a very important stat, and from a merit sense, if you have 8/8 katana, presumably Iknoweverything you now have something like this for total ACC:

276 (skill) + 45 (DEX) + 51 (equip inc PCC, bomblet, +7ACC ring) = 376. SE are very clever with there totals, its still not enough to eat meat, but should more or less cap acc @ MJSP with the 10% ACC from pizza

A NIN with Turban + Chainmail would be sitting at 20ACC less, and not capping ACC @ MJSP even with Pizza unless the boost from Innin was enough, but due to speed mobs KO its obviously not presant 100% of the time.

If I saw Iknoweverything lfp in WG, especially with addition of innin, i'd grab him instantly for a MJSP pty.

Got this tonight

dmg +4, acc +8, fire dmg +13

I am far from the assault rank for Perdu blade, is this decent? Worse than Fudo? o.O

edit: I don't ever relly DD on nin, just solo /dnc or lowman stuff.

Edit took out link lol didnt realize hosting site had porn banners, they didnt last time i used them >.<

Best Tsukumo I've been able to augment (on first set of attempts):

Dmg+5, Subtle Blow+4, Acc+7

Good augments have to exist. :)

Honestly i went through about 14 tsukumo to try to get some good augments, havent really gotten anything i would truly be proud of tbh. One i have has

Dmg +5 acc +5 Subtle blow +4

and another

Dmg +4 acc +6 Subtle blow +5

I dont really use them, i prefer senji's dmg output.

I'm also looking at the tsukumo in the future, will be 75 nin in a few weeks. I have Senj/perdu/Fudos already, most all needed nin gear and will be working on Magian eva/dex/Mozu(dmg) katanas... out of all of those, what are the best 2 to use on nin for merits/limbus?

The 5dmg 7acc 4crit augment looked pretty beastly with that delay, but im not sure how to math the katanas.

iirc BG math showed the 5dmg/acc/crit version to come out about the same as senj, so anything less than that would be inferior. The main issue is that ninja gets a ton of DW gear so the difference between Senj and Tsukomo is very small (like minimum of 8 difference from the original 37), so when you're that buffed the base damage difference is moderately substantial.

Personally I like the lower delay for fun on Cape Terrigan FoVs, which anything you're fighting where you can have near capped fstr makes a substantial difference in their DPS.

5 damage is your best option ideally coupled with critical bonus. Accuracy or enspell damage would be good, but dmg/crit are better.
