Ok so i got my monk to level 99 it is my 1st non mage job past the 40's...H2h is only 310 and i know i need to level that to cap and i have alot of merits used on monk alrdy but now what. My gear is all AH and basically items i had before i quit 3.5+years ago..SH and such. I m looking for basic everyday use starting point. I assume getting empy +1's. I have never done weapon trails, which should be my 1st? What are some of the easy to get upgrades for the different slots. I guess I have alot of different things to still get but I am looking for a good solid starting set, a goal of the next month+ of playing. Thanks in advance for an future help. Bennmetht

Could you give us a list of what your current TP, Weaponskill, etc sets are so that we can get an idea of what you may need to work on specifically? The best thing for us as far as determining what all you need is to see what you have first.
As far as weaponskill trials, both Asuran Fists and Ascetic's Fury have their places. Asuran Fists is important for Blue !! staggers when it comes to Abyssea, and Ascetic's Fury is one of your stronger weaponskills in Abyssea with proper Atmas. Do you have Floor 100 credit for Nyzul Isle? If so, I'd recommend Ascetic's Fury first, since that will be your best DDing weaponskill inside Abyssea.

Can't say i Hva been to Nyzul Isle at all as far as that goes. and has far as different gear sets i basically only wear the one set..All my high level jobs have been mage and never really worked on DD equip.I have a SH i bought like 5 years ago for use with RDM and thats about as good as the gear gets..purple belt.yes should be brown or black...cheap crap rings and earrings.hell think i still have emp hairpin on just cause I had it in MH. I totally get I need different sets. I was 1st worried about level 99 then on H2h SKill/merits since they come at same time at this point. (almost 350). I guess would be nice to knock out a couple easy/good gears that are good for what ever set..as far as quest gear i am on 5.3 In CoP and only low teens on WoTG if they have good items. Thanks for any input and yes i agree I have a sh*t ton to be working on.

Grab some aurore gear(lvl 78) to start with until you get Empyrean +1/+2 and you can also try to finish Brown belt quest to have some worthwhile belt until you get Twilight/Black belt. Can also look for Relic+2 armor for different macros and if you have a few friends that still do Sky NM/Kirin for some stuff, try to get a few free items too since some are pretty nice with synergy augments :) Finishing CoP/WotG/Add-on scenarios(ACP/AMKD/ASA) could also bring a few good items if you have the means to finish them with another job if needed ^^ And of course, doing limbus/dynamis daily for money could get you the expensive stuff pretty fast if you can manage them with some jobs :P Almost forgot you can get Monk AF3 ammo/neck and a few other goodies(Atheling mantle comes to mind) from Abyssea if you know ppl or see some interesting shouts!

Once you get more experienced, can look into Salvage V2 equip and VW drops(Toci's harness,Athos equip comes to mind...) and NNI gear in the long run ;)

You could probably always shout in Port Jeuno (or wherever the central hub of activity on your server happens to be) for a group to farm Empyrean seals. Each monster drops seals for four different jobs, so you could shout that you're doing "X mob and that A, B, and C seals are free lot". I'm sure you'd get some hits.
