Ok so after returning from years of absence and starting a new character, my monk is now level 80.
What im seeking is advice on an order of operation so to speak? I have my full set of Aurore gear (thanks SE, really cool looking) and a few of my other slots are filled with decent gear. I do plan on going through Zilart/CoP/ToAU etc so nothing of that nature is a necessary discussion.
More of what im asking about are the trials and aby gear.. Currently i am on Trial 68 with Pugilists (1/3 Truffle) so i think i am on the right track? Are there any other trials i should be simultaneously completing? Also, I have my stones accumulating in Port Jeuno but i am uncertain as to which aby zones i should focus on, if any, at my level/gear situation.
Sorry if my post is vague but i am just a little uncertain that i am on the right path here, and i feel like im going mad reading about all of the different trials and gear choices.

I think the first thing you should focus on is leveling to 99 and capping h2h skill since gear in exp parties truly is "care".
Your next gear should be AF3 though. Join seal hunting parties for MNK seals whenever you see them and focus on getting +1 and +2 (later) on all 5 slots asap. For weapons the emp is ofc the best to work on, but if you don't plan on doing that, try to get your hands on Taurine or Furor Cesti in the meanwhile. I'm not sure about what has been added lately but those should serve you ok for a while.
Also, do your Brown Belt quest if you havent, you'll have to do it sooner or later anyway.
ps. You could always do the fire taipans path, but if you plan on getting Verethragna at some point I wouldn't bother, takes too much time in my opinion. Don't know the math for lvl 99 weapons though as I haven't played since lvl 90
