I read somewhere about a post of low manning JoF.

I have had time to go get meself a pop for this , but as I dont have a limbus or sea LS, I was wondering how to go about low manning it. I think I read somewhere it can be done in a similar way to salvage chariots. As I can only grab a few random people I am hoping I can get a nice Torque for myself.

On an unrelated note, for einjar I have noticed Asceticss fury consistently outperforms asuran bobs on the bosses, anyone else noticed this?

Also guard seems very popular these days, when I was FoV in cape bob and mooching for adamantoise I used a jelly ring and retaliator. Thats near enough 10% damage reduction right there, can capped guard compete with that? I think no.

Check your total playtime, ever wondered what you could have done with all that time? I kinda wish I learnt the guitar.

For the sake of all of our sanities, while I appreciate what you're trying to do, please don't bring up that last argument you presented >_>

From what I gather, lowmanning Faith is largely based around DoT-kiting.

To answer your Guard question, no, it will not keep up with 10% (although exactly how were you managing this? You mention Retaliators but they aren't damage-reduction, they're Counter, which works on an entirely different mechanism)

Haste, double march, double minuet. One whm or sch outside the party so that they don't get hit by Breakga.

More DD's just makes this harder, btw. If you bring a thf for TH, just have them spam collaborator on the whm and that's it. Too much TP for Faith = dead monk.

Further, have the THF solo ghrahs away from the pt with a bit of help from the outside WHM or SCH, and when he gets 100% TP TA WS you for extra dmg and enmity.

there's a great thread about this on KI. i've bashed that forum for its meme-spouting clique-ism and violent assertions of falsehood before, but they often post interesting strategies there.

and no, capped guard won't mitigate damage as well as -% phys damage vs anything that matters. capping your guard is a waste of time. please don't make threads or posts about it.

This thread has discussions on both a melee strategy as very briefly outlined earlier as well as a DoT/SMN kiting strategy. If you look around in the BG Events section you can find threads for low-manning pretty much every NM in sea.

Breakga will hit whoever is on JoF's hate list now, so the safest way to go if you're intending on salvage-bossing JoF is to simply have whitemages stay out of the AoE range.

In my opinion, the two ideal ways to low-man Faith is to either have a practiced/skilled RDM and SMN duo kite it (adding on more people during a kite complicates the process), or go with a 5-or-6-man chariot-style setup.

I personally had the most success with MNK, MNK, COR, BRD, RDM, WHM, using sushi/pizza and Mambo/Mambo/Ninja/Magus buffs. With high evasion, you generally have a very good chance at not getting one-shotted by JoF's various melee attacks (particularly vertical cleave), and in the occasional offchance that utsusemi isn't available, Magus Roll and shell V will cut the damage down low enough that you can eat Quake II without much trouble. All of our offensive needs were covered by gear, food, and spell haste.

EDIT: RDM and WHM should both make use of a lot of the Raven or Crow gearsets.
