If it makes you feel any better, pretty much all the AF quests are really annoying. Its not a thf thing specifically.

Also...why on earth are you spamming expensive prism powders when you have nin to 90? Just /nin and use tools. 9x cheaper >_>

I went Thf/Blm for warp/escape and used Thf for TH4. Figured "A TH4 Thf should hsve NO problem getting drops!"
... right. Killed like 40 lizards per egg, and the spot on Wiki that lists them, are all 80+ now. YAY GOV!

But yeah, gonna buy a stack of each damn thing and go back Dnc/Blm for much faster movement and still have escape for 2-3 and warp to leave D:

I meant most of it, I use the boots still myself for flee duration when I remember to unstore them. (Half the time I'm in a hurry.)

The rest (Well, except the gloves if you can +1 them) is more like bragging rights.

How am I doing it wrong? Please explain and use something other then a dumb one word answer. Considering like I posted thief is a hard job to solo on. Meaning entirely on thf/???. From lvl 1-95. And I don't mean any of that abyssea burning that so many of you pro idiots considering soloing.

And once again another post with the person looking at it from one point and not as a whole. In your example that didn't even happen until lvl 75. What about 1-74? Look at the entire picture and not just the end product and then let me know how easy it is.

Urgh, I kinda feel like I'm being trolled here but, for the sake of posterity.

Level 1-74 on most jobs in FFXI is difficult to solo on. This is why we used to have these things called parties. Parties were these wonderful things where 6, often random people, would get together and go and kill stuff for xp. Why did people get into groups of 6 to do this? Because solo'ing sucked.

THF is no different to any other job in this respect. One thing that stands out for THF, until 60, is the lack of any decent dagger ws's. This didn't make solo'ing difficult though. It made it a PITA. It took forever to kill something for meagre xp. THF never had difficulty solo'ing anything pre level 75 though. Between Flee, Perfect Dodge and Hide a THF has multiple ways to survive a difficult encounter, or to escape from an unwinnable situation.

THF could utilise /DNC or /NIN for survivability and at level 25 has access to bloody bolts to get HP back.

I'm not saying that solo'ing on THF didn't suck, until I got Dancing Edge, it was painful at times. But difficult? No.

Once you can equip bloody bolts you can solo easily. It's just a matter of spending the gil to do so. I soloed EM and T hypogryphs in Rivern Site B (50cap) as THF/NIN plenty of times. Since thief got the option of dancer as subjob a thief has been able to solo even more effortlessly from an even earlier level.

Soloing for exp was meh, but you could still do it. And compared to other jobs that weren't blm or bst you did a relatively great job.

That was all pre-abyssea. Nowadays, everything is even easier.
