I surprised myself by discovering that I actually like thf, even tho all my other highs..are MAGE. Up until then I'd only kept it to 15 for farming purposes. When the cap went up I got around to leveling it to 50 for TH2, then kept going after I fell in love with it..
What's been bothering me is all the guides I've found so far do not have many suggestions for post 75 gear.
Before you ask, I've been working on a twash off and on, stuck on the tiger atm but then I've been farming like NUTS to get blm and whm spells. I'll get back to that soon I hope..I also have a twilight dagger but a very nice thf told me to save that for dancer. :D
I'll list my current gearsets, then what I think I need (I'm going after r/ex gear first since those @##$$ blm spells are spensive)

About the only thing I can see is maybe wanting an xbow+acid bolts, along with a small racc supporting set (can be as simple as aurore body/pants/racc ring/pcc in a /ra macro; sky's the limit). Acid bolts proc on a whole lot of stuff in abyssea, blind/bloody bolts too, making bolt usage quite a powerful option that I used to neglect until not too recently.
A cheap, fast xbow would be velocity bow, or camp yourself an octant for the fastest xbow thf can use. Doesn't need any special atmas in abyssea to support its use, and skilling up shouldn't be too bad with frequent use of feint (cap feint merits and spam bolts during it, unless you actually need to be doing something else lol).
Other than that, it looks like you're already making decent decisions for items, so just go get more r/e junk. Just leave a little room for drops heh. Couple upgrades: dusk gloves for tp (cheap +1 haste over aurore hands), tumbler trunks for ws, loki's kaftan when you get the chance for ws/sata sets (dh or af3+2 are good til then), and ballerines for haste/eva.

Thanks. I kinda stupidly threw away my ballerines by mistake recently but I figure we'll do that again and I'll be able to reget. (NOT worth calling the gm over when they're 100% drop!) Until then guess it's the pink boots..

Also I got what WAS one of the top 75 xbows (A starobow) but I usually don't have it on me. I was a xbow thf up until I got boomerang, so yes I got some xbow skill. (163 marks, tho yeah. Once I get the WW mule up so I can make acid bolts for cheap; I'll mule up the old starobow and go skill it to cap. Or get a better one...)

As for new things; I got a pair of wild gages while going after some body seals. (I'm a mithra); Using that in the SA gearswitch macro for now. (I actually hit 2 macros to SA)

I'm gonna disagree with this one here. I prefer Ziska's + bolts over raiders most of the time. Raider's Boomerang is a 3% increase in dual wield which isn't bad, but a majority of mobs we fight are susceptible to acid bolts (including most bosses and NMs, even voidwalkers). Acid bolts lower the mobs defense by 12.5% and the entire alliance benefits from that. Truthfully even if you're soloing 12.5% lower mobs defense will increase YOUR OWN damage by more than 3% dual wield. The only situations where raider's boomerang out damages acid bolts is when mobs flat out resist the defense down, and unlike the aht urghan era where 90% of mobs resisted they land 90% of the time.
There is of course the issue of mob longevity. If you're fighting trash mobs that die in only a few seconds acid bolts may not be necessary, but the effect still adds up over time. The second benefit of x-bow is you don't ONLY have acid bolts available to you. We have bloody, sleep, and blind bolts as well. Bloody bolts still come in handy in a pinch and sleep bolts are an excellent way to stun a magic spell mid cast. Blind bolts are another solo tool but I personally use them less than the others. The point is that X-Bow offers a lot of versatility that boomerang doesn't, and composed a r acc set off stuff I already carry on me anyway (arctier's, breeze rings, raider feet, ambusher legs, aurore body, etc). People using the boomerang 100% just like being able to engage and full time melee rather than reach for a /ranged macro. This is personal playstyle preference and not BAD if you wanna go that rout, but nevertheless it doesn't change the fact that the notion that Raider's rang outdamages X-Bow is flat out wrong. Especially when you consider the implications of acid bolts benefitting an entire alliance of melees pounding on a mob. That's like a red mage not casting Dia III, and since the benefits of dia and acid bolts stack it really adds up.

Thanks melph. I may see if I can get my crossbow back (I muled it) and skill it when I get more time/gil (I'm being a cheapskate atm. 3 mil spells do not help the wallet!) and save the boomerang for farming mostly. (I mean, you don't wanna waste bolts on TW mobs.)

Ziska's is unfortunately better by a pretty wide margin, fortunately it's not all that pricey anymore (on my server at least). Definitely a worthwhile investment for anyone who's serious about THF!

Welcome to the club. Same happened to me 5 years ago but w/o the new exp system it was a hell full of pain and suffer, thanks god campaign releases before i cuted my veins.
Used to love x-bow (and more since i leveled some levels spaming them on EM mobs solo). As a guy that waste millions on bolts to level solo i can tell you to not give a @#%^ about damage or stats bonus on your x-bow, just watch delay and ranged accuracy. Low delay cause sometimes you will be in hurry to land the bolt (bloody and sleep) and Racc cause you are not a RNG an your Racc is too far away to be capped.
