Hello all. Right here's the thing, I stopped playing around May '10. I was only 43 but I was on my way and I had a pretty good gear plan to get me until at least the mid 60s. However, now with new content I figured I should get some advice from those still playing before I come back.

It was pretty decent stuff for the level but now I'm not so sure.

Very little has changed in the 75 and below content. Honestly, your equipment is better than what 99% of the WHMs in your level range will be. You don't need to worry about a thing. I bet your Paralyze & Slow are bangin' with all that MND. In fact, I wouldn't bother touching that equipment until Lv51 when elemental staves are available. That'll be your next significant upgrade.
You could go for a Healer's Torque for stronger Cures, but honestly you already have Holy Phial which is almost as good and helps for other white magic rather than only Cures. If you're really hardcore, you can get both and use Healer's Torque for Cures, and Holy Phial for everything else. Equipment swapping is something you're going to see more and more of as you break into the 50's.
Circe's Hat is another minor upgrade you could do. That's all I got, unless there's some RSE you could use (depends on your race).

Thanks for the advice & the compliments. Iirc, my Paras and Slows were particularly awesome. It's been a while.
I don't know how I managed to go all this time without knowing about Circe's hat, so thanks for that. Whether or not I grab the Torque or not will really depend on how much time I really have when I come back. At the moment I'm going to be fairly casual. Once Uni breaks up for Christmas break I'll probably have some spare time.
I've got (or had?) Monk and Warrior at 75 so I'll be working on those when I get back, too. Possibly Ninja too but I may put that to bed for a while. It depends on how much time I have!

edit: Ohshi~ I've just remembered I'll have to level all my subjobs to like 48 now, won't I? Is Scholar still the go to sub for WHM? Or is it something else?

Subjobs will need to go to 49 potentially. SCH is still the best subjob for WHM but RDM is also useful. BLM is used for Stun sometimes too.
Hmm, well looks like I've got to get the majority of my jobs to around 50 then. Thanks for the advice Eldelphia, hopefully it won't take me too long to get back into the swing of things.
I'll add RDM and BLM to my list of jobs I need to level.

There was some talk on the official forums that SE is considering the possibility of ultimately raising the job level cap to 100. So if you're taking a subjob to 49 and can stomach one more level, it may not be a bad idea to just take it to 50 if you want to get it out of the way now.

I'm sure I could manage one more level haha. I would probably end up getting 50 or 51 any way. Depends how it works out if/when I static with my old friends.
