It's my first ever end game event so I'm worried I'll mess up!

What does WHM normaly do in Dyna? Are there loads of enfeebles to look out for? Do you regen/haste as much as possible? Repose? How does it work with other WHMs etc...

Also, would I need Sacrifice or Ensuna? lol

Thank you!!!

It's a long event so don't worry as much ahout hastening people nonstop like it's a merit party. But, you'll most likely be paired with a RDM and you should discuss with them who will hasten who.

Few things to watch out for in Dynamis:
As you probably already know, every single enemy in Dynamis will be a beastmen type and have one of the original jobs. They can all use their 2 hours also.

-Anytime a SMN mob pulls out an avatar, put up the correct barspell as their 2 hour can wipe your alliance

-Anytime a MNK is pulled, be wide awake, ready to cure your tank when it uses Hundred Fists. Like, quickly spamming between Cure V to Cure IV and back, instantly. If you have a NIN tank, overcuring isn't even a bad idea as their HP can drop faster than you can even react if the stuns aren't there.

-Watch out for NIN mobs as they use AoE Mijin Gakure. Most every shell will ask you to put up Barfira for this. There's actually testing to show this doesn't matter, but if it's your first run, just do what they ask you to do, it's good practice anyway.

-BST jobs all bring pets along with them. In Dynamis Bastok mostly, they bring scorpions that will spam Breakga. So, put up Barstonra and Barpetra, then get out of the way. In Dynamis Windy mostly, they bring birds that will spam AoE silence, so put up Baraera and Barsilencra and have your echo drops ready.

-RNG enemies can use Eagle Eye Shot and one shot most anyone so if you want to help, you can Flash them around 85%, but this isn't really required as Flash doesn't last that long anyway.

As far as Sacrifice and Esuna, I'd say use Divine Veil first, and if you get hit with another AoE debuff in under 10 minutes, Sacrifice/Esuna the group. Slow, Paralyze, Weight are all common AoE debuffs.

Main thing you need to do is go to the Dynamis wiki page for the run you are doing and familiarize yourself with the names for each enemy job so you can react appropriately. It will take a few runs to memorize it.

And one last thing, this will be the event to make you buy Dark Magic Skill+ gear and get serious about Aspir. Learn which enemies have MP and get used to switching to Dark Arts then Aspiring, and switching back when it's safe. You can pull 100+ MP a minute from this.

For sandy, repose the beast pets. They're immune to dark sleep.

I recommend lots of caffeine / whatever stimulants keep you awake. It's a LONG, rather boring event.

THIS!!

Those hecteyes spam Dispelga too, it's a total nightmare if they aren't slept. In fact, keep them Silenced too for when they wake up.

So will the WHMS discuss what each are doing?

Also, which is better. Solace or Mysery?

Or should I just macro in Mysery before Esuna (if it'll count the last hit even when Solace is on)

If you're the tank party WHM, I recommend having at least 900 max HP. Why? If you go down, the tanks will go down as well. If the tanks go down everyone goes down. 900 HP will help keep you alive. 1,000 HP is even better.

Dynamis is a hostile environment for all jobs, especially if your BLMs are having issues sleeping mobs and tanks are having issues rounding up hate for the large group of mobs that are pulled at a time. Throw a cure or two and you might have a loose mob attack you repeatedly. These mobs hit hard and you can die very quickly. If you can stay alive long enough to cast Cure V on yourself, you'll increase your survivability significantly, even more so now with Cure V's stoneskin.

If you're the tank party WHM, save your mp for curing the tanks. If everything is going smooth in your party and you're sitting near full mp for a stretch, you can help cure the BLMs. If you're not the tank party WHM, you can help cure the tanks and BLMs.

Haste. If you happen to be in a melee DD party, keeping the melees hasted is important. Since Dynamis is a timed event, helping the melees kill faster will help the linkshell get to the next time extension statue and will produce faster drops for the shell as well. If you're in the tank party keeping the tanks hasted lowers their Flash recast timers which helps them keep hate better. However if you run low on mp in a tough situation, the melees can live without haste for a little bit.

Avoid casting anything but cure spells on MNK mobs. In the time it takes for you to cast haste or regen, the tank can die. The AoE petrify from BST scorpion pets has a very long range, so get far away. When the scorpions cast breakga, cast stona on the other WHMs first so they can help unpetrify everyone. If you cast silence on BST pet birds or slimes, make sure they stay silenced. Be ready to recast silence quickly if it wears.

If your ls leaders tell everyone to wipe, don't cure anyone. Don't run. Mobs will come after you, and everyone will have to wait for those mobs to come back and walk past before getting up. If you die a bit early and can get up without being seen by any mobs during a wipe, you can run off and start resting. This takes experienced judgement however and I wouldn't recommend doing it if you don't know what you're doing.

That's all I can think of for now that hasn't been mentioned already. Good luck!

This right here is perhaps the single most important thing a whm in dynamis needs to get used to doing. Everything else is just your normal whm stuff.

Generally each will look after their own party. If you notice a party that doesn't have a healer, help look after them and hopefully other healers will do the same, but generally communication won't be very strong. If you are in the tank party you may want to coordinate who casts Haste on who, and in some cases who takes primary responsibility for healing which tank. This won't be a big issue in San d'Oria, but in zones like Xarcabard you will sometimes have 3 different tanks tanking 3 different mobs, all spread out, and really need a dedicated healer watching each one.

I'm thinking Solace for Dynamis, but they're so new that I doubt anyone will have a definitive answer. Use your best judgment. To answer your other question, no Misery won't count the last hit taken when Solace is on, you need to get hit with Misery up. Even then, if you switch to Solace and then back, your record is reset as well.

Well, in dynamis, im usually, wait always, the sole whm out of like 25~ people.

Just follow what everyone has said here, and my opinion,

enfeeble the mobs with paralyze and slow. It helps a lot and hardly costs any mp. Flash the mnk 2hr if you'd like. I always do it, and ive only died like twice :P

you just gotta go out there and see what its like. No written guide will prepare you 100% fully for something if you're new at it .-.

Weird just got back from playing around with Misery in Dyna and I see this thread :P

Pretty much stayed in Misery the whole time, switched to Solace for Barspells a bit, but wasn't really necessary. The Cura boost is well worth it, considering how many times AoE's go off. I used Esuna religiously too, almost always casting when it was ready and trying to stay near my party so I'd get hit with whatever status hit them. Really didn't even need DS+Erase at all this way.

If I happened to not be in range of any spells, used Sacrifice on someone that did get hit and Esuna right away. Played everything else normally as Whm/Sch in a tank party. Keeping up Haste, Regens, Auspice, etc. Seems to work very well if you ask me. Even managed to get off a few Hexa's.

Misery makes a lot of sense now, as long as the Whm is taking a beating / getting nailed with status effects, you can Cura and Esuna spam. Was a nice change of pace at least.

normally you kill pretty quick and your MP pool can last until next "Mp stone", the way to go about things is to get as big a mp pool as possible so you dont run dry.

another thing to recammend is /sch and some +darkskill gears, and aspir whenever thats back up with the strategem that reduces cast/recast times on spells.
With double dark weather? there you ll get good results on aspirs.

whm is nice in dyn have fun :)

One thing I do on the rare occasions I'm in dynamis as WHM is to watch for when green eye statues are pulled, rebuff, re-reraise then and get all my MP back as the statue dies.

some further tips:

-filter out everything you can, there is going to be alot of text you don't
need

-reserve as much mp as possible, you sitting around at almost full mp is not a bad thing so you are prepared when things go wrong

-debuffs share the same prioroty in dynamis as they do in an exp pt - silence>paralize>others

-hastes are a bonus not a necessity. If you get a DD insisiting on haste they are dead wrong. When fights are 15-30 seconds this should be a luxury.

-DD/Tanks SHOULD have rr items. Pay attention to your linkshell rules around rasiing people as most shells will. For example we do not allow R2s or R3's as they are a wasteof MP when you hould already have rr on

-listen to LS chat

-keep your macro's simple, I typically write a new line each run as there are typically only a few things you really need a macro for. Not a bad idea to have a /target "whateverthepullersnameis" macro too incase he needs a cure

-try and learn which mobs are which jobs, it will help you to know what to watch for

-repose is goddly in dynamis but should not be your main focus. If something is just not staying asleep or someone woke the wrong mob don't be afraid to use it.

-don't assume someone is going to do something, you will have 20-50 people with various degrees of skill/ability. If someone is low on HP cure them but again focus on your pt 1st

-get rid of your ego, people are gonna die, it is called DIE-namis, come to learn priorities ie you can still roll if 4-5 DD are dead/weak but if both tanks are down you are going to be sitting around

Only bad thing about this latest patch is now it provides further encouragement for bitches not to have reraise.

On Tues i did my first dyna since the update ( we run on Tues and Sats and Sat was called off due to Easter)

I Really enjoyed having Esuna Available.

We did Xarcabard, and those demons Love to do their SLowaga paired with the random Whm Mob or Blm Mob doing Diaga or Poisonga.

Misery + Esuna would wipe BOTH from my party in 1 cast, vs having to remove 12 individual stats. And you know how often demons use slowaga.

Cura also came in handy (since i would have it on for esuna)i would typically get hit with the AoE as well. I would then Cura for approx 180 Hp for everyone for 30 Mp.

Solica cure-stoneskins also cane in Quite handy tho. These DO transfer to ANYONE. (potentially broken PLing ability, but thats another story) So just spam cure 3's on the tank for an Extra bit of Damage reduction or paired with sentinal for ~15 secs of no damage.

Auspice also cane in wonderfully handy to reduce the ammount of TP moves the mobs did.

Sacrifice i used the least, but thats also just because i happend to be in range most of the time.

Thats all the New stuff anyway.

As for "old" strategy its similar to a normal party, haste, regen, protect, shell, cure, barspell. Its just on a much faster pace, so typically much less limited Resting time.

If you have any other whms in the shell, ask for their help, the best help you can get is typically At the event and with someone who knows exactly how your Ls runs. Not to say what others here posted is not valid, but every shell does things differently.
