Hmm. Skyrim is still €50 on Steam. I may get it if it goes on sale at some point. You know, if I get bored of and/or finish Assassin's Creed.

Same. Then I started posting in r/Watches (duh), and my most recent addiction has been r/EDC (which is pretty interesting if you ignore all of the stupid people that think carrying a handgun is necessary).

And of course I'm subbed to MFA, even though I don't contribute much there, and tend to ignore everything but their "inspiration albums," because most of them are @#%^ing retards who don't know how to dress ("durr CDBs, dark jeans, and a OCBD or GTFO").

Ah yeah, I saw that. The Spring/Summer visual basics guide? There was also a jacket/overcoat basics guide last week I think.

And yeah, the two new BGs are actually a lot of fun. Temple of Kotmogu (the one I'm in) actually requires a lot of skill. Basically there are four orbs that you hold to gain points (like resources in AB), and based on where you are with the orb, you gain more points. If you stand in the middle of the map (an open pit with only two staircases leading out), you get maximum points. So there's a lot of strategy in the beginning in getting orbs as well as taking the middle.

To add to it, the longer you hold the orb, the more damage you do (I was doing 50k crit Arcane Shots by the end, where my normal is ~20k crit), but the more damage you take. Most people die after a few seconds of being focused, so you have to be on your game with your defensive cooldowns (and spirit beasts are almost required for hunters unless you have amazing healers).

Silvershard Mines is actually my favorite BG, though it's only shortly ahead of Temple. Basically 3 carts track away from the central hub with a ring outlined around them. You stay in the ring, you make progress towards owning the cart. The objective is to own the cart as they go into the end of their track, capping the resources that the cart carried. Even better, the north and south tracks have switches on them, and if they're toggled before the cart gets to them, the cart takes about twice as long to cap. There's a ton of strategy, especially because the map is basically long hallways so there's not a whole lot of LOS going on.


I probably will when I get my new iMac in a month or two. Right now I think my current PC would die if I added FRAPS into the mix.


Yeah, they're still pretty damn powerful. KFC is probably still their best comp in 3s, but they're still beastly healers. That was the only person I had trouble killing last night in the ToK game, the resto shaman on the other team.


I really just do BGs now. Arena wasn't that fun unless I was playing with RL friends, and BGs are a lot more fun most of the time.

I've also found that I don't really need the high-end gear in BGs simply because most people are really, really bad.

Oh, I'm not near-invincible. If I went into arenas, I'd get my ass handed to me once I was in the 1900s or so.

It's the thing that I like most about WoW PvP: that gear doesn't matter as much as skill. Having my stage 2 upgraded epic weapon helps most definitely, but really it's about having the most resil and a decent weapon and then having skill.

Most of the people I beat are better geared than I am. That's just a simple fact. I'm better than they are though, via skill.

And that's what I like about it.

The thing that has really saved random BGs for me has been the blacklist function, where you can "thumbs down" two BGs (other than the call to arms) and you won't have them come up in your random BG queue.

I haven't played WSG or SotA for a hell of a long time (the only times I play them are honor weeks).

AV is all nostalgia and shooting people with Power Shot/Explosive trap to knock them off the bridge.

I learned from the best.

The last link is the best one because it's 100% nostalgia.

Strand is the worst BG ever and IoQ is awful as well since I was Horde. Which also meant that I pretty much always lost AV but at least you could PvP there without those @#%^ing vehicles.

I was referring to the quantity, not the quality. There is voiced dialogue happening when you talk to some of the NPCs in Pandaria. They started doing it in Wrath of the Lich King, I believe, with Arthas showing up every once in a while to threaten you. And that troll in Zul'Drak, what's his name...

Theo, I'm not saying the expansion was bad, just a bit underwhelming, considering the price tag. The patch was the major thing and it was free. You paid for five more levels and Pandaria. If you remove the five extra levels, it's a content patch. So five levels is what stood between "content patch" and "$40 expansion". You'd think Blizzard was part of EA.

I mean, you can't play Monk without the expansion. So...

I don't know, I don't really separate the expansions from their pre-patches. It's pointless to be like, "well the pre-patch was awesome, but the expansion itself sucks" because the pre-patch IS the expansion. You're not going to sit at 85 with the patch once the expansion is out while all of your guildmates and friends level to 90.

That five levels of content is actually a lot.

Edit: also, I found r/shutupandtakemymoney today. Already bought something. Some people use reddit for good (?). I use reddit to spend money, apparently.

Logged into SWTOR last night for the first time since my subscription lapsed and started using all of the unlocks I purchased earlier. Unlocking all the stupid stuff: hide helmet, companion gear customization, crew skills, etc etc. In the end I had everything unlocked except the purple gear. Then I switch characters and notice the "hide helmet" isn't working, I switch back to the first character and it isn't working there either. I peruse the forums and find out this has been a problem for several weeks now. Some of the account-wide unlocks aren't functioning properly. Of course I can't be helpful and submit a ticket...

At that point I remembered why I ended my subscription. Loved the game, but I came across more bugs like that in 3 months of SWTOR than in 5 years of WoW. If I decide to pay $15/month again, WoW has got my money.

Anyways... just finished Brotherhood. My god do those @#%^s know how to do a cliffhanger. I wonder when the next AC is going to be released because I don't quite feel like waiting half a year or more after these cliffhangers. 2 more games to go though.

Have you played AC? I think I might have just gone with infuriating if I didn't already have the next game lined up.

Yeah exactly, I get not having access to ideal customer support or something. You know, take away the live support or the phone-in option or something. But not allowing bug reporting is just shooting yourself in the foot.

I shouldn't have problems earning enough credits to re-purchase the unlock if need be, but it really made me question whether or not it was worth it. I mean until that point I was planning on continuing to give them some money for weekly content access etc, and I'd just spend the tokens when I got the urge to play. Now I'm too irritated to even want to consider it.

Well, they've progressed to the 1800's now with AC3. Maybe they'll do another game with Connor during the French revolution or something but after that... Can't be too long before we get a full Desmond only game to wrap up the series, no?

That said, I haven't started revelations yet. I need a small break from the marathon AC gaming over the last month and a half.
