How often do you exercise? This isn't me being a prick, but similar to what Pigtails is saying, exercise improves mood and increases your hunger.
Exercise, contrary to what many people think, is a human necessity. If you don't exercise, you're actually going to feel sh*ttier than if you did. Even if it's to go on a long walk during the day, it will be better than sitting on your *** feeling like sh*t about yourself.
I know literally nothing about you because I'm a self-absorbed prick, but 99% of the time when people talk about hating themselves and having a bleak outlook on life, they really don't need to.
My outlook is pretty simple: if I'm healthy, have a roof over my head, and food to eat, I'm doing pretty well and don't really have too much to be upset about because it could be a whole sh*tload worse than it is now (i.e. I could be starving, could have an incurable disease, could be homeless, etc). It sounds kind of stupid, but when you think about it like that, you're a lot more thankful for even the simplest things you have.
Sgriob - where do you live? Are you receiving medical treatment for your back and joints? Are you taking any medication?
I will tell you what I have told my daughter since she was in her early teens. You need a plan, and it has to start with income. But you won't be able to concentrate on setting up an income stream (fancy way of saying "job") without getting your health in order. All plans are destined to fail, so you also need a back-up.
Start with your health. Do you have some type of socialized medicine available? Are you already in treatment? That's where you begin.
As far as your feelings about psychologists, don't make any decisions based upon your mom. We all have too many biases when it comes to family, and I think you may be closing a door unnecessarily. If you can get to one, do it. You don't have to tell anyone you are seeing one! Just do it! What have you got to lose?
I quoted Theo for a reason, I know you already answered his exercise question. But look at that, Theo is worried about you. A lot of us are. That means something, no? You even got Theo to call himself a self-absorbed prick! (He said that, not me!).
So, c'mon, a new year is coming. Make at least one change and see if it helps, even just a little. If it does, then make another change. Your parents love you, even if you feel they don't understand you. I just threw my 22yo daughter out, for the second time. It may sound counter-intuitive, but I did it because
I love her. She thinks I don't understand her either. Maybe I don't fully understand her, but like your parents want for you, I want what's best for her.
Let me know what you think about this Sgriob. Let us all know how things are going.
Solicitations malefactors! I am endeavoring to misappropriate the formulary for the preparation of affordable comestibles
Write it in English, not in Pentagonese. It's not a launcher, rifle cartridge, 7.62mm; it's a rifle. Call it a compass, not a direction-finding module. And if someone insists on being called AdcomphibsPac, the Fact File should explain to those not gifted in garblespeak that he's talking about the administrative office of the communication services for amphibious forces in the Pacific.
