On a completely unrelated note, Islamabad tomorrow. Also, first PIA flight. From what I gather, they're lots better than European airlines (but worse than Emirates, like everyone), so... I'll see.

Hamlet is definitely good. But my favorite is 12th Night. It's one of the comedies, but not as famous as some of the others. It has a lot of common tropes of Shakespearean comedies. Mistaken identity, cross dressing, I think three different couples get married at the end of the play, etc. But there's something special about it that I can't quite put my finger on. I really like Much Ado About Nothing too.

Much Ado About Nothing is pretty much the Shakespearean equivalent of a modern day romantic comedy, and I find that hilarious. Can't say I'm familiar with 12th Night, but I'm willing to bet that the title is somehow a pun relating to a female's private parts. Like everything else Shakespeare wrote.

Except for the weed lollipops you can get everywhere. Although they probably don't have anything to do with weed beyond the flavour because else only coffeeshops would be allowed to sell them.

Last I heard, coffee shops in Amsterdam weren't allowed to sell anything to tourists. Read something about coffee shops boycotting tourists in protest or whatever.

They are still allowed to sell to tourist and continue to do so.
It's the southern part of the country where there's a weed pass and obligatory membership for coffeeshops but with our government falling apart and new elections coming up I doubt it'll ever happen in Amsterdam. Hopefully it'll be reversed when/if we get a more left leaning government without the retard christians and they'll work towards legalizing and regulating weed entirely instead of @#%^ing about with costly, inefficient laws that are a godsend to criminal organizations.

Wish You Were Here is one of my favorite songs.

Within Temptation's "new" (2011) album is growing on me. They're moving away from symphonic metal and into dance rock, but graciously, in my opinion. It's also a pleasure to finally hear Sharon den Adel using the entire range of her voice instead of just the high notes (a song like Ice Queen gives me throat sores just listening to).

Also, I'm sort of in love with DC Universe Online. Free-to-play and I'm a badass superhero in the DC Comics universe. How awesome is that? And yes, I made a Marvel Thor character because even though it's the wrong publisher, he's still a badass viking god-hero.

I played Champions Online for a while and although it was cool, those games really tend to end right after the character builder which is such a shame imo. An MMO with an awesome character creator like that but with a well built and enjoyable (end)game behind it would just be @#%^ing awesome.

I played Champions Online and, yeah, the best part about that game was the character creator. Character creation in DC Universe Online isn't as big as in Champions Online, but the gameplay is much more exciting. It's built for consoles, so you can't really click anything, except when menus are open and such. This makes it sort of a third person shooter game, but with superheroes and stuff.

It also has voice acting, but not the cinematic style used in SWTOR (the cinematics are usually short "look at this guy while he's talking" cinematics). All the characters you interact with in the game have voices, though some of the "filler mission NPCs" recycle lines. All the major characters, like Lex Luthor, Joker, Batman, Superman, etc. have voice acting. I just love the gameplay. You choose your powers (or gadgets/sorcery if you're not into mutant superheroes) and your weapons (everything from bow to dual pistols to fists), design your hero and then go to town. Your powers can chain for additional damage and you can do combo attacks with your weapons to regenerate powers.

It also helps that the graphics are awesome for an MMO and the game runs smooth even on max settings. Probably because it was built for consoles, but it's been ported nicely to the PC. It has a Batman: Arkham Asylum/City feel to it. Except it's an MMO and you aren't limited to Batman/Robin/Catwoman.

And seriously, the game features flight from level 1 (assuming you choose it as your superhero movement method). Supersonic flight at level 9. Shut up and take my money!

The games are kind of similar to Assassin's Creed, except more focused on avoiding detection and less on acrobatics.

My favorite part about the Hitman games was the planning process. Checking out the area, learning guard paths, planning the chain of events that would lead to someone dying and me being awesome. When I got bored with that, I'd take my silenced gun and just kill random people, drag their corpses to a restroom stall and put on their clothes for, um... fun. Smiley: um

The gameplay in the first ones might seem a little bland if you're used to other, more modern, stealth games. The first one is from 2001, so it's 11 years old. Didn't have them fancy graphics and multi-core processors back then, but if you don't mind outdated graphics and enjoy gameplay that encourages planning ahead then I think you'll enjoy the Hitman games.

Maybe I'm from an olde generation, but as awesome as the character creator looks if it's more of a selling point than the story line and game mechanics then I can't really get behind it. Now, this is DC we're talking about so I'm more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt after the (relatively) recent Batman: Arkham games that the game mechanics are fairly solid, and obviously the CC is good, but after reading 1,200 pages worth of Batman: Knightfall I simply dread anything story related.

I'm sure it's a good game. It'd have to be to pull in money after going free-to-play, but it just isn't for me.

Also, it is kind of funny how I got no load shedding in Karachi, no load shedding in Lahore, but in Islamabad (which is pretty much developed) we did get 8 hours or so so the AC had to be turned off to conserve energy (backup power is way pricey).

Executive suite = fancy hotel type thing, it's more of a fancy faculty conference hostel at the university.

Rs. 1,500 = like 12 Euros maybe.

I got the executive suite part Smiley: tongue

And maybe that'd be cool next year or something, if I can figure out a way to do that.
Either way, I wish hotels would be that affordable here, De Molen's Boreft's Beer Fest is 28-29 september and I really want not go there, it's cheap too (€16 for entry + 5 beer tokens + glass) but hotels seem to be around €50/night and I wouldn't want to miss a day and traveling back and forth is impossible and would be more expensive, plus traveling home after a day of drinking beer wouldn't be very smart.

Oh, also, Närke Kulturbryggeri is going to be there and I'd LOVE to try their Kaggen! Stormaktsporter. Also Mikkeller, Evil Twin and Haandbryggeriet and awesome non Scandinavian breweries.

Anyways... I'm getting off track here. Smiley: grin

$60 a night isn't so bad for a hotel room.

That's really funny Maz, I just started playing DC last night myself. My only complaint thus far is that your role and power are so closely connected. I wish there were a bit more options to choose from. Like my favorite DC character of all time is Poison Ivy, so I wanted to make a hero with plant super powers that can DPS. Nope, can't do that. If you pick the nature power, you're a healer. I like that they still give you DD abilities, but I wish each power had two options instead of just the one. I don't like healing, so I'm probably going to go and make a new character that is a DPS, or "controller" as they call them.

There are three power (class) specific roles (specs) in the game, Tails:
- Defense
- Healing
- Control

And then there's a shared role:
- Damage

You unlock your power specific role at level 10. Every power has two roles with one being Damage, the fourth and shared role. Every power starts in the Damage role, buffing their damage output. A Nature damage dealer would be no less a true damage dealer than a Mental (Controller) damage dealer. The difference is what you bring besides the damage.

A Controller's power specific role sacrifices damage output to, as the name implies, control the battle. I'm a Controller (Mental) and I finish Alerts (4-man dungeons) at second or third place in damage done. Most of my power (mana) is spent on crowd control and power regeneration for the group. I'm a mana battery to a point where a WoW Shaman would be envious. I'm there to keep trash from overwhelming the tank and to make sure the tank and healer never run out of power.

Yes, I can switch to my Damage role and my role would be to deal damage, but I wouldn't need to choose a Control power to do that as all powers get the Damage role.

Long story short: you can go DPS as a Nature player. Just remember to use your Damage role (switch out of combat with keyboard button T).

Note: Since the Damage role is normalized across all powers (the Damage role makes your powers increase your damage output by a percentage), the only difference between a DPS Controller and a DPS Healer is what abilities you have available.

Totally unrelated, but why do you put an "s" on the end of math? Math is an abbreviation for mathematics, which doesn't have a plural form in English. I've seen a lot of people use "maths" and I can't for the life of me figure out why.
