Just spam STANDARD Follow

This is to all those crafter out there who actually thought the crafting mini-game was for real.... it's not.

Yesterday I discovered that when grinding a recipe about 5 levels higher [crp 33] trying to play the game is less effective than just hitting Standard for every single attempt!

I used no abilities - i.e. Maker's Muse, Tender Touch, Improve etc - and yet my overall success rate was actually higher than before.

At first I thought it was just a fluke but about 30 synths later the truth was staring me in the face - crafting 'skill' is a lie.

Things may be different with leves as you do not get as many chances to average out the successes and failure but for grinding there really is no skill involved at all.

I realise that most high level crafters are probably reading this and laughing that it took me so long to figure out the obvious but... what can I say - I was gullible.

So very not impressed SE.

30 attempts is not enough to dictate whether or not spamming standard is better.

Show me a test where you played the mini game 1000 times, then show me a test where you spammed standard 1000 times. Show me the results, then I'll believe you. For now, we'll call it, like you said, a fluke.

Spamming standard works on lower to mid range crafts, but it doesn't work so well on the more difficult ones.

You are 99% correct. For grinding, a lot of the time you can just spam Standard for success.

Strangely though, success isnt usually what actual crafters are trying for. There is a little known, well hidden bar that says "Quality". Did you notice what yours said at the end of your synths?

Leveling a craft is just the beginning. At 50 you will want HQs and then you will need to use skills to raise the chance of obtaining it.
