Trying to find a new way to get up to 60 in goldsmithing.Follow

Now I know most of the GS guides out there are different (and older), I may write a new guide if I can figure this out.

I'm leveling GS on a mule to use for a woodworking sub. The trouble is gold ore is really really rare on AH on Quetz. (It's even worse with gold nuggets.) I can get gold beastcoins tho if I look sharp.

Been doing geodes to 51, tho I'm planning on collecting gold beastcoins to make into ingots. The way it's looking (tho I don't know how high alch this is) I'm going to do Candle Holders from 51-55 (he has 60 alchemy), then Hydro Claws to 59, then gold rings to 60.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

You can use synergy to craft gold nuggets from gold leaves (which you can garden in quantity).

Hydro Claws are a popular path, but also look at Aluminum Chains(58). Aluminum Ingots are only 4-5k on AH (but only up sporadically), so you can add a few more skillups with those for half the price of a gold hairpin or hydro claws.

Thanks. Gold leaves ARE available on Quetz, my synergy isn't that high but I did skill that mule's alch on vitrol some.

Glad to see there's another use for it besides acid bolts.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you do in the 30's and on? I'm currently at 32, looking at the different options. I definitely plan to use the geodes recipe, but will need to work for a bit before I get there.

Any suggestions?

Another possibility for the final push to 60 is platinum sheets. It caps higher than 60, but with advanced support and some love it might be worth it, depending on the price of platinum ingots vs. sheets. At least both the ingredients and the products stack. :) Anyway, it worked for me with Ifrit's economy.

Verchoo: I actually used The Critical Break Guide to GS up until now. It's fine up until 47, then you have to get creative. If your server is like Quetz, the only real source of gold now is gold beastcoins. MAYBE gold nuggets, but then you run up against the gold ore problem again, since you need 1 gold ore for each nugget-to-ingot synth.

Maybe it IS time to write a updated guide. :)
