With a Lu Shang's from the start, 0-100 can take you 6-8 weeks if you fish every single day until fatigue. My general rule of thumb I noticed was every 200 fish got me about 1.5-2.5 skill levels. In more realistic terms, 0-100 took me about 10 months. Just find something that makes you a nice profit off of that has a decent level too. I only stayed in 4 different locations from my 0-100 journey. 0-30s was spent getting Lu Shang's in Windurst Woods, 30s-60s was in Qufim Island with Cone Calamary, Bluetail, and Gigant Squid, 60s-96 was in Talacca Cove on Dil, Mercanbaligi, and Ahtapots, and 96-100 was in Oldton Movopalos(sp?) on Armored Pisces. Good luck, and try not to drive yourself crazy over the slow skill ups as many of us have. =)

Quite a while. You're better off fishing for the gil then the skills since you can make gil off it which is far better then being locked up in a rubber room muttering about the moon phase, bait and lack of .1 skills for 6 days straight.

If you fish everyday for max fish and aim for skillups (which isnt the best way to go)

A year or 2

Times have changed Shykre, it's actually a lot faster now to skill up to 100.

starting with lu, 200/day going from nashmau (eastern shall) 53 > talacca (dil/merc/ahta) 96 > quicksand caves (cherax) 100 shouldnt take long at all. Certainly no more than two months, if not less. But that is some real hardcore fishing, and dont forget that fishing skill doesnt really matter anyways.

Lu is all that matters.

0-100 is possible without ever breaking your rod. If you do, there's a quest in Rabao that you can get it fixed if you don't trust any WW friends.

Given that even trivial synths fail about 5% of the time it seems very risky to fix LuShang's rod with WW. You'd think at some point you'd lose your broken rod, or is there no possibility of losing the broken Lu on a failed synth?

Pretty sure they removed the 5% fail rate from fixing a lu shang just because of how expensive an item it was. It should only got broken if you zone during the craft or if someone somehow casts on you.

You cannot loose the Lu via a break. Only way to loose Lu is to be crafting while docking ferry or to throw it out. Neither of which is a good idea.

This actually happened to me about 2 years ago. I was very agitated to say the least. I always check the NPC for time remaining on the trip and only attempt on >4min left. Screw losing this rod again ><;
