Hey, I haven't played in about 2 months and just got online to check out the new uptades and such. I'm just wondering why my gladiator now does practicly no damage? it says 187 attack power and im rank 30 with a lvl 29 dagger. 2 months ago when i still played i remember hitting an average of 100-200 dmg on monsters my level. Now i hit 30-45 :S am i missing something(even my skills which use to hit a good 200+ dmg are now at 75-90)? and whats up with all the cooldowns :/ i enjoyed being able to have an actual control over my strikes ( heavy strike, the gladiator normal attack has been removed) and now i cant keep my tp up since i have to wait about 12 secs for the normal attack (Light strike) to cool down and the auto attack is pretty slow... in addiction to losing healing power(with cure II) used to be at 250-300 now its at 175. (on average) and uses alot more mp. My last point lol...Did we also lose HP / MP? I seem to recall having well over 1250 hp and arround 450 mp, i now have 1029 hp and 369 mp :(.

( I tried doing a leve quest ( save the lettuce, save the world) with dodo birds on 5 stars it used to be really easy and fun, now it took me lke 5 mins to kill 3 dodo birds and i ran out of mp on the first 1 and was almost dead by the end of the 3...) I came back hoping for it to be better >.< i played 10 mins and i already hit the log out button...feels like it would pointless entirely to play.

Well thank you for any replies.

They rebalance the combat mechanic, so that now you're supposed to fight mobs about your level or 1/2 levels higher with average equipment, and only tackle harder when you have good equipment + Materia + a lot of cross class skills.

I don't know what to say to you... but if you tried the levequest and it put you against dodos in groups of 3 - and you were almost dead by the time you beat the group but still won - then it sounds like you were given enemies that were a proper challenge for you at your level. Just putting that out there.

Yes, with patch 1.19 a lot of adjustments were made to the combat system and yes, you did lose some HP and yes, you do hit for less now but yes, enemies also have less HP too. But I think you're exaggerating a bit about how slow combat is because your auto-attack delay should only be 2.4-3 seconds as a gladiator and Light Strike is on a 30 second cooldown not a 12 second one so you can't really rely on it as a source of TP (though it doesn't have any extra effects like some of the other class's basic abilities do which makes it kinda... ... ... sad, really). If you were soloing then most of your TP gain should have come from getting hit because my experience since patch 1.19 seems to be that you get about as much TP from being hit once as you do from a single auto-attack.

But that's neither here nor there. The enemy difficulty was adjusted to where you should be fighting enemies at or very close to your level rather than before where it was easy to do leves where you fought groups of 3 enemies at 5+ over your level without proper equipment.

Since patch 1.19 it seemed more like I was reliably (though close enough that it could be somewhat dangerous) able to fight either 3x enemies at my level, or 1x enemies 3 levels above me.
