Video i produced, highlighting Lancer's LoS Damage:

Let me know what you think!

Description:
Lancers probably have the most Utility of any War class in FFXIV. They have optimal access to both light and plate armor, life drain, enhanced energy regeneration, evasion debuff, a Zanshin-like ability that is activated, threat redirection, damage redirection, attack-boost that sacrifices health in place of energy and to top it all off they can unleash a flurry of linear LoS attacks.

I can see Lancer as being a VERY fun job to play if they fix combat, requiring more strategy and actual crowd control. I think of it as similar to DA2's rogue. It gets access to the only real shadow type ability in game, it gets Trick Attack to help pin hate on a tank. Combine that with some serious enfeebles and it has potential to me.

Your comments are most appreciated and drive me to make more videos that grasp what i feel the original dev's wanted us to see.

I was attempting a pug video, but i feel the class is incomplete with the current state of the battle system. Pug is heavily reliant on debuffs it applies itself, however with the roughly 25% miss rate with 'weaponskills' its extremely difficult to grasp the role pug plays in one levequest sitting. Even more so on a R30 3-star leve. I want to try and keep the monster difficulty high while making the action look like a breath of fresh wind.

I put PUG on hold because all i could come up with are a bunch of scenes of my arms flying allover the screen, which made PUG look like a hack-n-slash class, when that is not the case.

So instead i'm getting archer footage over the weekend. My 2nd recording turned out extremely well. Highly focused on the extreme alpha-strike burst damage that is Archer.

Add some difficult fights that require pinning hate on tanks (assuming they adjust the emnity calculations across the board) and make the LNC shadow move a real 1 hit true utsusemi shadow or even better a short 10 second guaranteed evasion type ability and I can see LNC being an amazingly fun class and exactly how I wished it was all along. I chose it for the wide variety of buffs/debuffs and positioning required. If I had a true shadow or a 10 second shadow type thing I could get behind the tank and pop the ability w/o worrying about getting smashed/petrified or w/e.

Enormous potential in LNC and a great video.

Great video, makes me want to play the game so much more now since Lancer was always my intended first job. Can't wait till it's out for PS3, or I get a good enough PC to play it on. What ever comes first I guess lol.
