Just want to say that the LFG tool is awesome and full of win.

I ran a couple of flashpoints yesterday and got into groups with a lot of newbies. Some were warzone players who decided to take the PvE aspect of the game for a spin with the new and easy access to it. Some were solo players who queued up for flashpoints because it was easier than traveling to the Fleet and spamming LFG all day.

Honestly, I didn't notice a drop in run times. Sure, we wiped once or twice on a boss because people didn't know the tactics, but it was a lot less painful than running PUGs in WoW.

I spoke too soon. I'd forgotten what kind of trash easy dungeon access brings in.

So far:

Marauder who thought he was the tank ("gogogogo")
Mercenary who refused to help the healer out ("If I wanted to heal, I'd @#%^ing spec healer")
Healer who wasn't healing spec'd ("More dps means less damage taken")
Selective tank ("I only tank elites")
Tank who wouldn't taunt. Ever. ("You pulled aggro, you tank it!")
Multiple tanks who weren't tank spec'd ("Lol, I've got tank buff")

Fun times. At least the queue for a level 40 DPS is only 20-40 minutes on a very high pop server.

Going to respec to tank/healer on every hybrid character I've got. Time to show these bitches how it's done.

Edit: Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention the horribad tank. Soresu Form now increases threat by 100% and I still managed to pull aggro off him with Guard on. Good stuff.

I had been out of game and goofing off on a Republic alt for a while, and when I logged back onto MY Imperial main, my guild had server transferred. It's a good thing I have real life friends in the guild or I would have had no idea what happened as I hadn't bookmarked the guild website when I applied.

I must say, it's a blast being on a high pop server. All of the advantages (shorter PVP queue times, healthier economy, easier to find groups while questing, etc) definitely outweight the disadvantages (asshats in chat and LFG groups, over-crowding of some quest areas).

I snapped last night in a PUG. Not my proudest moment, but I had enough.

I'm leveling up a new Assassin (think I finally found my favorite class) and got into a group for Hammer Station with me as the tank. In the group were also two Mercs and a Sniper. The healing Merc was good, but low level, as was I, so there were a lot of close calls on the pulls. The Sniper said nothing the entire run. Not even when she went AFK during a boss fight, causing us to wipe due to lack of DPS. The DPS Merc, however, was a total pain in the ass. A prime example of a nubcake.

He would constantly give us useless information and personal opinions on the boss fights, like "This boss only has 17k health (VERY EASY)" and would constantly mock the healer because she was having a hard time healing us all. He'd also use his AOE knockback every single goddamn pull. I told him to stop and he continued to do it. I told him to stop again and he asked me why. I told him in great detail why and he continued to do it. During one particular pull, I managed to round up all the ranged mobs in a clump and tank them just out of aggro range of another group. In comes the knockback retard and we wipe because he knocks them into the other group.

So, we're on the final boss and I've told the idiot to stop being a retard about a million times. You're probably asking why we didn't just vote kick him. Well, I tried, but apparently only the group leader can vote kick (and requeue) and he was the group leader. Bit of a design flaw there, BioWare, but whatever. I tell them to not stand on the landmines and kill the adds when they spawn. After the first wipe, Retardo tells us to ignore the adds because... and this is the good part... they'll just respawn.

I swear to god, I facepalmed so hard in real life, I still have a red imprint of my palm and three fingers on my forehead.

Anyway, I tell him to stop talking about sh*t he doesn't know anything about. I tell them that we need more DPS if we are to kill him, because the healer can't keep us all up forever. Nitwit over there tells the healer to stop being bad, which made me laugh out loud. I told the DPS Merc to shut the hell up and stop being bad at everything or we'd never finish the Flashpoint. During our boss fights, I'd noticed three things about our DPS Merc's rotation that made me cringe.

1. He never used Rapid Shots or Power Shot. Ever.
2. He loved the AOE knockback, even on bosses that can't be knocked back.
3. Instead of Rapid Shots and Power Shot, he used Sweeping Blasters.

That's right, a barely-worth-it AOE attack on a single target fight. He was maxed out on heat 5 seconds into the fight and then just jumped around on the landmines and used a Missile Blast whenever his heat dropped low enough, instantly capping it again.

So, three or four wipes in (lost track), where I had to handle the boss AND the adds because both the Sniper and the DPS Merc would ignore them and they'd run instantly to the healer, I decided that we'd never finish the run. I told the DPS Merc to uninstall the game because he was too stupid to be alive, let alone play a multiplayer game in which average intelligence is required to succeed.

I've never come across so many idiots in my years of playing WoW. The Fleet general chat is full of stupid. It's unlike anything I ever saw in the major cities in WoW. People can't type worth sh*t and when you correct them, ten angsty teenagers tell you to shut up because they did your mom.

Only one question comes to mind:

The rest of it you are correct on criticizing! :P

He was 23, but he wasn't Arsenal spec'd. He didn't use Tracer at least. And he had Combat Support Cylinder up. Which is funny, because he never healed and he never used Rapid Shots, which means he never got the CSC buff.

Some people are just stupid.

Gotta give him credit, though. He used DFA twice. Both times on a single normal enemy that died before the first missile hit, but still...

I've been queuing as a healer in my dps gear (Rakata/BH mix) for HM Flashpoints, quick queue and I usually forget to pull my Columi Medic gear out of the bank. I am seeing a lot of Merc's who don't get the rotation right. I just want to link them this .

I've been fairly luck in that most players I have encountered at 50 have been great. I had one run of Boarding Party HM where we had a Tank who was nerd raging over while being semi dumb, it was clear he didn't understand the optional boss and was walking into its mechanics all the while getting angry at the group for dying when he let one mob hit the poor guy who was healing. Other than that I have had a fairly successful track record of pugs, group finders and random stuff in SWTOR. The community on the server I am on seems to be fairly PvE literate.
