We will be bringing down servers for eight hours on April 12th, 2012 from 12:01AM CDT (April 11th, 10:01PM PDT/1:01AM EDT/6:01AM BST/7:01AM CEST/3:01PM AEST) until 8AM CDT (6AM PDT/9AM EDT/2PM BST/3PM CEST/11PM AEST) in order to deploy Game Update 1.2 - Legacy. All game servers will be offline during this period. SWTOR.com will be available. This maintenance is expected to take no more than eight hours, but could be extended.

Please note the timing on this maintenance period, which is beginning earlier than usual.

Link to patch notes.

No way I'm transcribing them here, because they're 12 posts long. No clue if that's with repeated info, but holy hell.

The whining about the PPA and IA changes for Powertechs/Vanguards has had me laughing ever since it was announced.

My favorite comment has probably been about adding some kind of "visual indicator" to let them know when the 6s IC has run out. Yes, it's one of those things that would probably be nice, but....come on....how hard is it to keep track of a proc with a 6s IC? Not very. That's like four globals.

I prefer the complaints about the Sage/Sorc changes.

Those are pretty funny too. Like how the Consumption/Noble Sac change will "destroy" Sage/Sorc healing.

Because it was apparently ok for a healing class to never every have to worry about resource management ever.

The same attitude pervades the PT and Van forums regarding the IA/PPA change. That change is going to "ruin" heat management for the spec, because they can't use Flame Burst/Ion Pulse as filler anymore in lieu of their normal attack. News flash idiots: *every* class is supposed to use their "normal" attack as part of their regular rotation (excepting Sorcs/Sages who substitute Lightning Strike/Disturbance for their "normal"). Any spec that allows you to completely avoid using your regular attack is, imo, a flawed spec. Even if it's just once every 5-6 attacks.

Sadly, Tracer/Grav spec still isn't really headed in that direction, but it's such a cast-heavy spec that I suppose it sorta compensates for the lack. But more importantly....no more BS RNG luck that gives PT's/Van's 8k damage in the span of 3 GCD's (or 12k in 5).

When a PVP team that consisted solely of Sage healers could easily wreck any other team, there's a serious issue. I barely ever played PVP, and it was seriously clear that we needed a major nerf.

Bubble spam that gave a movement speed buff?
Powerful HoTs that gave them an absurdly fast heal?
A powerful HoT that gave them substantial free Force?
Unparalleled CC?
Stun?
Force Slow?
Project/Shock?

HA, no, that's not OP. :P

Bubble movement speed buff wasn't too bad, given that it has the 20s debuff that prevents it. But when *everyone* can use it to cover each other....it gets stupid.

But the rest definitely sucks. I think the degree of change that Bioware is taking is a safe step. It's not too much, but it does remove a key proc and reduce their overall throughput by a little. They're taking baby steps, and I can respect that.

I'm somewhat looking forward to the Bounty Hunter changes. I had played Advanced Prototype for a while and it was pretty fun, but Pyrotech being so far ahead of it was really hard to disregard. I might give AP another shot, especially with the change to Prototype Flame Thrower:
Quote:
Prototype Flame Thrower now is granted a stack when Immolate is used. In addition, stacks make Flame Thrower immune to interrupt and at 5 stacks Flame Thrower will now slow the movement speed of targets by 70%.

Pyrotech will probably still be better for PvP in general, with all its midrange abilities. I might try a hybrid ST/AP build picking up that CC immunity ability in the AP tree primarily for carrying the ball in Huttball.

Not a fan at the PPA change, and not because it has an ICD. I'm mad that they took away my character's laugh when it procs. I really liked that audio cue.
