I'm ASSUMING that they've just deliberately decided to slowly change those things, but wanted to get basic mechanic-based issues out of the way first. Because changing it kinda amounts to making tank specs a viable new option in PVP which adds to balance issues. If you can get the classes not radically changed by accuracy nerfs relatively balanced, it won't be so hard to add in tanks.

I don't think people are calling for sorc/sage blood because of their accuracy, but rather their utility. They have an absolutely appalling amount of utility for a ranged class. Including, but not limited to: an in-combat sprint, a hard stun, a 60 second CC, passive snares, an AoE knockback (no resolve for j00), AND pretty respectable damage, healing, and shielding.

Their toolkit is absolutely bonkers.

I didn't mean to say that that was the ONLY reason, but one of many. As you noted, they have a great deal of utility, and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, I think people look at a variety of factors beyond the kit Sorcs/Sages have available.

But in regards to the yellow damage thing, yeah, it's going to be an interesting unfolding of events in the near future. Same with pvp tank gear. What's the purpose of useless stats in pvp? Just to make yourself harder to kill against 4/8 classes? But on the other hand, as a non-tank spec, non-tank gear wearing Jugg, I have a pretty stout amount of survivability with my CD's up and support, *way* more than any other non-tank AC in that situation. But then again, if I have 3-4 Marauders on me I'm not really worried. If I have 3-4 Ops on me, then I'll be dead before I have a chance to do anything. The only real difference there is Marauders utilize mostly white damage (defensible, shieldable) and Operatives use mostly yellow damage.

Yeah the difference between the damage types and how they relate to mitigation is something that needs to be addressed, for sure.

Right now only melee and ranged attacks fall into any of the available mitigation types; force and tech attacks are exempt.

That being said, my marauder does most of its damage in yellow text through bleeds (which count as force damage). So it IS possible to spec out of that limitation, it just requires a very particular style of gameplay that probably restricts the class viability a little too heavily.

See, you would think, but even those require you to "hit" the target with a melee attack. Rupture and Overcharge Saber both require regular (i.e. "white") melee attacks to land on the target. Try attacking a Juggernaut or Guardian who has Saber Ward up with either of those attacks and you'll see that you're just as vulnerable.

The best spec to avoid that kind of limitation for Maras and Sents is actually Rage/Focus, since Smash, Crush and Scream all count as Force attacks, and thus ignore defense. The fact that you can do huge burst damage is just icing on the cake.

Last night, without fanfare and almost exactly two months after the official launch of the game, Imperial Agent and Operative Ginthel Densur, formerly known as Cipher Nine, reached level 50 in a most anti-climactic manner on the Master Zhar Lestin server - during his first daily quest on Ilum. When reached for comment, Mr. Densur's associate Kaliyo Djannis said, "F_ _ _ Off!"

Here ya go: Daily Commendation Quests

Scroll down to the next comment for the Repub's quests, and note the Space Mission that gives two easy Comms. For some you need to do regular quests to open the dailies.

I know of Comm Trader NPCs on Ilum, I hear there are others. Maybe Belsavis or Fleet? Can someone comment?

For the Imp side Ilum NPCs, go into the building in front of you when you land , jump on the down elevator, and they're all downahead in one room. The pessimist's view: Implants are 120 Comms each. The optimist's view: There are 27 Comms available each day. The realist's view: It's still going to take some dedication to get geared. There are Item Modification vendors also, and they sell the level 50 Armor, Mods, Hilts, and Enhancements. If you want an off-set also then you better get started.

Good Luck and have fun!

EDIT: changed bad directions to Comms vendors.
