I'm a fan of all things progressive. Music that sounds like The Mars Volta, Pink Floyd, Coheed and Cambria, The Roots, or Tool. If their songs are 10 to 30 minutes long, have a central theme, and create a great album then I probably listen to them.
I also second Balafrais who said John Butler Trio. It really doesn't matter what style of music you mainly prefer, JBT is amazing.
The only genre that I disgust is Pop. All Pop. If it's manufactured by a record studio (or a similarly mindless musician) and #1 on the charts then I'd rather be deaf than listen to it.
