Several times today my computer has been freezing and I can do nothing with the game.
All other programs are working fine. This has never happened before to me.

That wouldn't have anything to do with the server; they would just crash. The last time someone reported a problem like this their video card was overheating, and they never really saw it until EQ2 made it work hard.
