it has the tag "EQ2 quest wiki pages without db entries" i'm guessing db means database? why can't i edit quest name as it looks weird being "eq2 quest:Black Swill for Blackswell" where can i find information so i can edit myself nexttime without requesting help?

1. Yes, db means database. Database entries are garnered from the data that we get from SOE, and newer quests/zones/mobs/items are rarely in our database before they are released live.

2. The "eq2 quest:" part is a namespace--even our database quests use it (example: http://eq2.zam.com/wiki/EQ2_Quest:Snoogle's_Presentation -- resolves to the database entry but the namespace of EQ2 Quest is essential for that). What the namespace does is, once we do get data for the quest, allow soe's data to link up with our wiki page. If we just put the page in as eq2.zam.com/wiki/Black_Swill_for_Blackswell then it would not hook up properly. Same goes for our mobs, zones and items.

3. If something is named incorrectly (typoed quest name for example) an admin (me or Calthine) can fix it easily by moving the page to the correct name--just post here or PM us. :)

To add to that: You cannot remove the "EQ2 Quest:" part from the name. If you do that, when we get the data from SOE it will not hook to the quest. This is what makes our wikibase different from a regular wiki.

On the other hand, you now know how to link to a quest via it's name instead of a 20-character database code :)
