Updating from much older versionFollow

I installed the game shortly after its launch and played for about a month. But then I started moving around the world (I'm military). I havent played in a long time but want to get back into it and start playing again. Now I try to update the game and it jus sits there and times out after a few minutes. Can anyone help me?
