Party system has improved v.s FF11Follow

FF14 has a really nice party system. In FF11, you needed 6 players. In FF14, it doesn't matter how many players, as long as the fight doesn't go down too fast, and as long as you can DMG the mob, you will gain skill points and eventually, rank up. That, alone, is a HUGE improvement.

Players wont /laugh /point at the crappy DMG you do, since their skill ups wont be messed up by it. In FF11, if you are a samurai doing crappy DMG, you get kicked out. No such thing as leeching in FF14, on skill up parties that is. No more "OMG we just started and you, our tank, are leaving... WTF !!!". Also, no need to wait for hours. The level sync in FF11, please, don't get me started. the solo mode in FF11 (campaigns...) = ineffective. In FF14, it becomes more casual, friendly oriented. No pressure.

Now, if they can only fix the messy skill ups we gain after 20... Waaay too much randomised. People are flaming this game, but it's really not that bad at all. You can reach level 20 in 2-3 weeks. I suppose, as for now, you can reach 20-30 in 1-2 months. Then, perhaps a 3 months from 30-40, and finally 5-6 months from 40-50. Total = 1 year to reach 50 for a normal player who spends about 20hrs a week in game. Is that really bad ? It took that in ff11, in the year 2002, when i started the game. Also, keep in mind, that it will take 1 year to reach 50, but with a mix of a few different classes. Probably one level 50, and some level 30, 20, ... So, it's like having leveled a few jobs in FF11, wich we all ended up with. For me, what is frustrating isn't much about the time, it's more about how random the skill points are. You can't predict it, really.

Also, since skill ups are made especially in parties after 20, SE needs to fix the skill ups on conjurers. I know a few conjurers who refuse to party, since they are asked to heal, heal, heal, heal, nuke... heal, heal, heal, nuke... For them, it goes better in solo. I know a few who have stopped playing the class, until SE fixes it. They took out the skill pts they made on cures, but they didn't replace it with something else.

But i will say this again... playing in parties in FF14 is a lot easier. Nice improvement SE. Now, please, fix a few things :
skill ups less random, conjurers more skill ups, AH > retainers (unless you really keep improving them, surprise me), more !"/%!/$?%!/"$?/" AMINAS we gain every day ( i wish we could gain some when we get a new physical level). Fix the darn gear system. Anyone can wear anything, at any level. That is messed up.

The other improvements can wait (more missions, quests, NMs, easier/faster to craft (getting the items everytime i craft is annoying, where is the copy/paste option?)...

I'm a frustrated player for all the things i wish they fix, but overall, there are a lot more + then - for me.

They will fix the game, because there are too many WoW oriented people that have tried then quit the game. Sadly, SE might get softer and we will reach END GAME in no time.

That might be the only things, for all what people are complaining about, i wish they do not change. I wish it does take a long time before people reach 50. I wish for more missions, more areas we can grind, but i just don't want it to be too easy, like WoW, wich i never played for that matter. Please SE, just make it less random, the skill pointsm, but keep the same speed !

I'm sorry but you can't compare it to WoW... especially if you've never played it. In WoW its easier to level but this game is just ridiculous for leveling to the point that is not even benefiting SE to have a leveling system like this. WoW understood that leveling should be enjoyable and in WoW, it is. In this game all you do is grind mobs. Thats it. In WoW you can grind, quest, pvp and run dungeons for exp AND gear. Its much more enjoyable.

I can't believe that sentence at all.

I have been hard on this game and honestly I think that I should be. This game is far from complete and it is absolutely mind-boggling something like this was released. Everything in this game goes AGAINST everything I read in developer interviews. ENTIRELY. This game was a lie all along.

I agree - if you can get a party in XI it is easier in the sense there is less need for an optimal party set up... but there is also less strategy. The random SP gain needs to die in a fire. BURN random SP BURN. If you can get a party together it is impossible to know if you prey is sub-optimal - or your party set up or whatever because no two battles give the same results in terms of SP. It sucks. People get upset because they get crap SP gain and then they want to quit the party or you spend so much time looking for prey that gives everyone decent skill ups but it is impossible to tell if it will or not...

Also there is much less strategy than in FFXI because the best leveling comes from stuff that in FFXI would have given crap exp - there is no reason to do tough battles.

I agree that the Aspect of getting random ppl together for SP party is less timely than in XI, but as a CON (you touched on this point) I go from getting 200-300 SP per fight to 20-50 SP and its not just a one fight thing, it was that low for about 15 fights before it went back up to 200 for a few. Since the melee players were averaging 300-500 SP every kill, it seems like a waste of time, so Long Reply short, They do really need to fix SP gain, its WAY TOO RANDOM. I actually found Leveling in XI faster because of this reason.

I am a con main too man, so I totally feel your pain.

Worse is if you get in a duo and then the other person ranks up and you are still 1/4 of the way to next rank and they don't feel like sticking around till you finish your level.

the randomness has to go. its bearly worth it to even try to grind half the time cause your getting next to nothing. XI had some issues with the XP being slow to grind but it was bearably. this system is way to random to be bearable. i really hope they come up with a really good plan to adjust this.
