You are correct, these are classes which are broken down in to categories. You have four classes:

Disciples of War / DoW
Disciples of Magic / DoM
Disciples of Land / DoL
Disciples or Hand / DoH

Leve's are like mini-objectives that reward you with EXP once you have killed X amount of mobs or crafted X amount of items, These are either issued at camps spread out across various zones or by NPC's in cities.

I also quit after Beta but returned a few months ago, From my point of view the game has improved greatly, The UI is better, lag seems to of been reduced but it is still there in some cases, Content is good for new / returning players with plenty of side missions and the Grand Company quests will keep you occupied possibly up until 2.0 Beta starts.



Everyone is going to say their server is active, I'm on Hyperion and seems ok, but I have nothing to compare it against, I'm sure each server has its merits. Ragnarok is very French / German heavy is the only noticable thing coming from these kind of discussions..

Cnj is your healer class, the advanced job of this is WHM
THM is your BLM

Well what happens is you can equip certain job traits from every class, Example would be second wind from PUG, Cure and protect from CNJ and have them on any DoM / DoW, obviously some traits job specific and arent available so its a good idea to level certain jobs for the traits, but if you find a good LS they will xplan stuff.



Not exactly. You have Ifrit, Garuda and Moogles to fight, Plus Hamlet and the dungeons to run, pretty much everything is focused on 2.0 so its more a case of getting classes leveled in prep for this, but there is content available if you want to do it.



As in FF11, you have your time zones and activity levels, Im EU time and its good also it's a little more busier in NA time as well



This game isnt as focused on party play like FF11, parties are normally shouted for in Ul'dah, but variety is the spice of life in this game. you can level on levequests for a few hours solo, quickly swap gear and farm items to sell or to craft, you could hang on in Ul'dah and wait for party shouts or do missions. The game is very flexible, Its very easy to solo your way up, you could have a level 50 job in a couple of weeks. Once you hit 42+ you will see plenty of shouts for EXP or Spiritbond parties.

Made my account and started playing, just hit Level 7, I've only seen like 15 players so far, I'm guessing they hang out outside the starter towns? (Gridania I started at)

Also if you happen to know, just finished the first quest and I'm kinda confused as to what I do next, just wondering do you just look for whatever quests with no real main line?
