Hello, I have been looking into joining the XIV community. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive pc that I could run the game on. I know that V.2.0 will change that but looking to get started soon. I am hoping to spend around 600-800 bucks if possible as all I need is a tower since I have an extra monitor and mouse/keyboard. I was wondering if anyone would help me as I do not know a whole lot about computers and looking for one that has specs that could run it at a standard level if possible. If unable to I guess I will be waiting until V. 2.0 Thank you for any help you can give me.

Edit: I just wanted to say I looked through the articles and such but everything that is link is outdated or deactivated to buy.

It's hard to say, the game is very unoptimized. If you have a recent graphics card, it shouldn't be hard to run the game.

For the price range you mentioned, I would suggest checking out sites like fry's, tigerdirect, or ibuypower. These sites usually have nice deals on pre-built gaming PC's. Any modern one should be able to run ffxiv fine.

Check this one out: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1344750&Sku=SYX-1112

I have built a few few pc's using this tower and I really like it. It looks nice and has good air flow. It has plenty of ram, a mid range video card (I use a 5770 and currently play on medium settings in 1920x1080 res.) and plenty of storage. I think it would work well for you and falls in your price range.

Edit: There are a lot of machines out there in this price range that will run the game. Just remember to read reviews and don't buy a video card lower than a 5770 or its Nvidia counterpart.

Solid advice and the nVidia equivalent is the x60 GPU.
