The wired Xbox 360 controller is widely regarded as one of if not the best controllers for the PC. It's what I use on my PC and I don't even own a 360.

If you like ps3 controllers & dont want to do that whole driver install that doesn't always work stuff go to any game store & get a Saitek Dual Analog controller the 1 in the ps3 shape

Xbox 360 controller no doubt. Played ffxi on ps2/3 and I mapped the 360 controller to the same buttons ps2 was.

i personally got an official microsoft xbox 360 usb gamepad. managed to find one for £14.99 and it's official so feels like a proper 360 pad. personally i'd highly recommend it. has a 9ft cable on it as well which is incredibly nice.

got it for 2 reasons really one was i wanted something nice and solid for my pc and 2 i kinda needed a second xbox pad and at £14.99 it was to good to pass up. but yeah the 9ft cable is bloody brilliant goes down the back of my desk into my tower and still got 5 or 6ft to spare, and it easily reaches from xbox to couch lol.

I use the 360 one myself, but my only complaint with it is that Microsoft for some reason won't release a driver for the chatpad (keyboard addon) to function. The wireless headset for 360 is plug and play.

So, if you like to have the chatpad for talking, hotkeys, etc. the PS3 controller is the way to go.

You can use it wired as well, using the same Motionjoy application.

New here, figured I'd give my two cents on this subject as I may be getting this game soon.

Regarding MotionJoy and its drivers for the PS3 controller.

Pros:
Great idea if you're not planning on adding any other bluetooth dongles to your pc. I had it installed on my laptop to play some games, and all went well. I had the wireless functionality and it only cost me a little under $2 for the dongle off eBay from a domestic seller. MotionJoy even supports the six-axis functionality.

Cons:
The only issue is that the MotionJoy driver forces your PC to update any bluetooth dongle with the installed motionjoy driver. I tried adding a separate dongle for a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. When I plugged it into the USB the driver forced itself onto the dongle without asking me too. So I had to delete the motionjoy driver off the added Bluetooth dongle and remove and put it back in. Which of course, it would just overwrite it again without my permission.

Also, you lose the functionality of charging your PS3 controller while playing on your console at the same time. Once you plug it into your PC which has MotionJoy installed, it's linked up. Signal gets cut from the PS3. Worse yet, if you want to uninstall the MotionJoy driver, you need to edit some registry keys. Reason is it gets left behind after uninstall. Even though you uninstalled the program, (which BTW requires an internet connection to work) every time you plug in a new bluetooth USB, those pesky drivers will pop up again.

So if you need to remove the program, search your registry for 'DS3' and delete the .exe file that comes up to get things back to normal.


Other Thoughts:
My advice, buy a controller that is supported by it's own drivers via Windows e.g. Xbox 360, Logitech, etc.


TL;DR - MotionJoy attacks your Bluetooth dongles and Peripherals even if you don't want it too. But works well with the DS3. If you don't like this buy a controller supported by your computer.
