I'm wondering is it possible to change the gender of your pets? All of my pets are girls, but I think of at least one of them as a boy... I don't see any way to change the gender when buying a pet, so is it random or do certain pets have a specific gender?

There is no way to change their genders. They do have a specific gender. Unfortunately, on your own, there's no way to know before buying... you either have to submit a ticket and ask a Ref, or ask someone that already owns it, or check out the pet pages here (almost 100% sure they are up to date).
