HELP!
I didn't change anything ... Except to use my on-board sound instead of USB ... (which I switched back) ... and all of a sudden I can not stay connected for more than a few minutes in scenarios without one of the following three happening - hard crash with sound looping, crash to desktop, or quick BSOD followed by a restart.
If I can't fix this, I'm going to have to cancel WAR :( I have to choose between WAR and WoW (I refuse to pay for 2) and I really, really want to fix this!
My WinXP SP3 is up to date, as well as all drivers.

Have no fear, for the tech guru is here! :). First, I would suggest you remove all sound card drivers, disable the sound devices you aren't using, and then reinstall the drivers for the devices you are using.
If that doesn't do the trick, try disabling sound compleley both for your comptuer and in the game and see how the game runs.

Deleted and reinstalled audio drivers ... no change.
Disabled sound ... no change.
Formatted hard drive ... no change.
I'm soooo frustrated. I wasted 5 hours formatting and rebuilding my system and no effect.
Could you please post your detailed system specs? I'd like to see what setup you have. Please note which soundcard worked, which one didn't and when.

Previously ... USB headset (with default USB headset drivers, the unit was logitech)
Now on-board RealTek HD Audio (Motherboard is a P5KC).
It's notable that now that I've turned sound off in game, BSOD crashes seem to have stopped, but CTD is still common.
I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions are very welcome :)
I know there are no official forums. Where can you go for tech support?

I was having this problem too, quite often infact... I thought it was my Alienware laptop, because my husband had no problems with his PC. He adjusted some settings in my video card and I adjusted my game settings like grass and such. It has worked fine since, even after traveling to the auction house with many people around! Hope this helps :)
