So i just got this email from the ea store stating that the CE i preordered the day it was possible to do so is backordered now... I can't do much as i'm in class atm, but is it just me or is that rediculous?

Isn't there only a limited amount? will this effect my ability to play? I have no clue but i've already been playing live and i've used the codes...

I don't think it will hinder your ability to play.. since you are currently playing, yes? So you just don't have the CE. Not getting what you paid for, but atleast you are currently playing.

But agreed, pretty silly to say these limited CE, are back ordered. You'd think they had them, each one, ready to go.

But again.. atleast you are playing.

i've looked into it more, and apparently they haven't charged me yet, but if i don't get the full thing i just won't play. I ordered a CE because i wanted all the bonus fluff. Just infuriates me as this is the third instance this week of being screwed by a corporation (last one was microsoft >.>)

Yeah they won't charge you until delivery is done. You'll get the CE for sure, but when it seems is up to them.

Saying it's back ordered doesn't make sense, but posably it's one or more of the extra fluff they enclude, that wasn't manufactured in time of the inital time to ship. I've seen that happen with other CE type orders. They are not in control of the development of one or more things included, just the game itself I would think.

Won't hurt to call them later to find out what the hold up is. But effect your ability to play the game, won't happen. Just to recieve the CE on time.

hopefully this is just a precautionary email, maybe the shipping will just be delayed while they sort it out.

hopefully. I'm wondering if they are putting canada on a second tier though. My friend just sent me an im on msn freaking about it too. you'd think that the EA store would have more then any other venue considering it's their game

read this on WA

Quote:
I pre-ordered 2 copies of the CE on March 27th. Today I got a backorder notice form EA.
I just called and spoke with a supervisor from EA customer service. He told me that everyone who ordered multiple copies should be receiving this notice and that they might only ship 1 copy to each of those people, and that if they did oversell the collector's edition, they would just print more of them and we would get our additional copies from the second run... but that it probably won't come to that.
I am sorry, what part of "limited run collector's edition" allows for them to just print more copies on demand? why don't they just make as many available as people want? I mean, I am sure they could sell lots more of them... And "sorry, you pre-ordered, but we might not fill your order because someone who ordered after you might want one"... I don't know, somehow this seems kind of dirty to me... anyone else?

so hopefully its just a minor issue that will get resolved easily.

Hmm,

Since you already have the codes, I wonder what would happen if you were to cancel that order/backorder, and purchase the CE from another source? Would that mean that you would end up with 2 sets of CE items?? The online stuff I mean... <wg>

Just wondering,

Valandur

Don't make me throw a meteor at you ;p

Quinz, start calling people darn it! Start with Mythic CS and tell them you ordered a CE that is now backordered - what are your options!

EDIT: just got this email
Quote:
Thank you for purchasing Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Collector's Edition through the EA Store. Due to issues with our
inventory management system, you received an email alert about a
possible delay in shipping the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Collector's Edition. We have since resolved the issue and orders are
now being processed for shipment to the majority of our preorder
customers. A small percentage of our customers have been affected by
the delay. If you fall within that group, you will receive a second
notice to explain how we intend to compensate you and give you access
to the game until your Collector's Edition arrives. We apologize for
the inconvenience.

If you have any questions about your order, please contact customer
support by visiting:

and click on the "Contact Us" link.

Sincerely,

The EA Store Team

Whew, sounds like you're in the clear then :). It wouldn't have been very likely they would have just dropped you or ignored you due to that problem.

just like when the preorder first came available and EA store didn't ship there codes immediately, everybody was up in arms talking about how EA is the devil and they suck and you shouldn't order from them, and just like last time it gets resolved withing a few days.( not talking here specifically)

i guess people will always try to find something to bitch about with big companies.

Or EA really is the devil, and you're new to this game. :p EA is getting better with their MMOs though, since they let Mythic pretty much take it over.

So i'm not aloud to be upset when a company takes a dump on their own PR and tells hundreds of customers that the order they placed 6 months ago isn't available? EA @#%^ed up, plain and simple. I didn't seek out a reason to bitch, i was upset that something that was promised to me 6 months ago was suddenly not available when it came to the ship date. Same as everyone else that i've talked to
