Been reading about this fight and I've heard people MNK zerg it etc.
My question is though.do you need the old rarab tail to win? I've been trying to farm the items but after 5h's it getting kinda frustrating.
I'm currently 95BST.

It depends. I'd recommend at least 1 tail but you can win without; however it can take some pretty well geared folks to win without the tail.

Our setup was NIN, DNC, DRK, BLU, WHM, BRD.
Despite the fact that 2 of the 3 main DDs were severely undergeared, the fight was overwhelmingly easy and over before I could
get a 2nd step off on my DNC. Getting the items for the olde rarab tail is by far the worst part about this. We spent over 3hrs getting 4 sets, never
used mine so it's rotting in storage on the off chance someone in the future needs it. With decent DDers, you should only need 1...2 if you need
a safety net.
