Actually I've posted the same post at FFXIV General discussion and someone asked me to post in other relevant forum. Please tell me if I'm posting in the wrong forum k? I really need guidance...

FFXIV... Sorry.. Noob asking noob questions.. If this game is based on the movie. Will it be easier for me to play this game after I watch the movie? Is the movie even out yet? Curious... I choose characters based on the movie?? Do you think I should play the older versions before starting the latest game? are there actually connection between the older episodes and the latest??

Sorry I babbled a lot but I really need guide here. Don't wanna start on something then found out I have to play the older version first for guidance.. ><

What movie? I've been playing FFXIV and don't know about any movie... although since it's beta, they still have most of the missions locked down so I likely wouldn't know if I was missing something like that.

I only know about Advent Children & The Spirits Within. The former is obviously related to FFVII, and the latter is stand-alone and not related to any of the games.
