WoTG Quest Mission quesionFollow

Just curious, but are the WoTG Quest and mission tied together? Do you have to complete certain quests to do the Main Mission?

EX: Im on the Fire in the Hole Quest for Bastok (s) but have not completed it, do I have to complete it before I can do the new mission that are coming out in the Dec update?

If they keep with the pattern, yes. To start Queen of the Dance, you had to finish at least one of the 3 nation quest lines up to that point, so it's very likely that you'll have to complete the new ones for next week's update.
