Returning after MANY yearsFollow

Hello!!!

I played FFXI some time ago, i quit right before treasures, then came back sometime after wings, i played WHM/BLU/NIN/SMN/BLK all of which i got to 75 with appropriate sub jobs. However i have since lost all the info i needed to get my account back so im debating on whether or not to buy the game off steam and just do it all again and start from scratch. I am looking for a friendly linkshell to help me get back into the game while i attempt to push through lower levels. the absurd dailies of the new wow xpac have kinda driven me back as well as the new FFXI xpac coming out in march so here i am! just trying to figure out which server i need to go to and if there is a link that would take a returning hardcore ffxi player Smiley: nod

I would like to welcome you back and recomend that you search your notebooks, files, post it notes etc to find ANY shred of your old information. Anything you can find is helpful and then call SE Customer support (this is not going to be fun) and beg, bride and felate your way to getting your old account back.

I'm not saying you are garunteed to fail at finding helpful people but I will say that it's hard. I've seen about 8 old friends try to come back at scratch and burn out within two months even with help.

well the grind isnt an issue, i really enjoyed the game,and im not the type to just give up, however i have tried everything possible to find my old info and to no avail and have contacted SE about it and without the fake made up birthdate on the account i cant recover it, i made up info when i made my first account because i was like...15 or 16 at the time so i used my parent's info and they no longer have the same credit cards (im 25 now) so it was a long time ago, my only option is to start anew and give it another shot but recovering my old account just isnt possible

Fair enough lol, I certainly wish you good luck but I sadly don't know of a group that is nice or helpful enough on Siren. I did see this thread that's only about a week or two old and you may find some helpful people here:

It's really not hard to get back in, especially if you don't expect to be doing endgame in a month. If you have some patience to do the missions and the unlocks - the game is actually more "returning player" friendly than it has ever been.

And to top it off a new expansion is on the horizon. So it is a good time to be back. It takes way less time to level than before, and a lot has been shaken up. BLU is more loved at endgame than ever, IMO.

If you can find the original POL registration code, even without the "fake" birthday you gave them, you've got a shot at getting the account back.

You can tell them that your parents made the account for you and gave them a fake birthday for your safety since you were a minor at the time.

I only have my pol ID since i memorized it, i already know for 100% without a doubt that i cannot get the account back, i posted this to look for a new linkshell before i start playing again, sorry for any confusion but i am already aware of the status of my account and i am re buying the game, not asking for suggestions on how to get it back, i have already spent hours on the phone with SE Smiley: lol

Well Idk about a linkshell but I last played several years ago and the furthest I ever got was to Jueno on my lvl 21 BLM....lol...but I'm back as well with a BLM and a MNK...on servers Leviathan and Odin....according to ffxiah dot com Odin is the most active server. Hope that somewhat helps :)

I play on Asura and it is an active server. Part of a great LS which you are welcome to join. We do have a few returning and new players and everyone is friendly. Look me up in game, although I get on around midnight est or send me a pm and I will send you the names of some sackholders once I get home from work.
