Inquiry: Doing -ppdt axes (BST) with a friend..Follow

I'm running this with a friend who's dualing two BSTs and I am a BST as well. I just finished up 340 some I'm on to trial 343 now.

I fully understand that if I was by myself I'd need to have my pet get the finishing blow for the next few trials. My question is thus: Is it still possible for us to trio these? If my pet gets the finishing blow will only I get credit? Or does the game recognize that a pet got the final kill and award credit to all people on the same trial in the PT (like these kill quests are doing)?

I'm really not looking for opinions, I'm sorry, I already have my own. I don't think we'll all get credit.

But if someone has been in this exact situation and knows 100% how it works I'd really appreciate hearing it.
