Returning player here and wondering what DD is needed/asked for most end game. I like DD the most and have a Drg. But i want what is needed to have the most fun with my time. I like DRG WAR SAM the best. Also I see /DNC every where. Is this for solo?

War is in high demand but for end game you'll prolly need an empy to get max invites to some events. Drg is sought out for voidwatch because it has a lot of unique procs, not sure what is expected of them in terms of weapons or what role they play beyond procs.

War is prolly the most in demand for widest variety of events, and is super useful in abyssea, unlike drg. Though for higher tier content you will be expected to get an empy.

/dnc is for dual wield and also for proccing in dynamis

WAR is highly in demand for their ability to cover a large variety of weapon procs, and a well geared WAR can be just behind a perfect Resolution DRK on the parse.

/DNC gains you dual wield and procs for Dynamis, it also really helps your ability to solo on any melee job.

Be very careful with crappy vague info like this. If you make the DRG Empyrean weapon you are liable to be laughed out of Jeuno. Same goes kinda fairly for SAM and DRK too, at least with the staggering resources to get such, for these jobs specifically, sub-par weapons past level 90, which could instead have gone into far superior non-Empy weapons like a Relic or OAT.

tl;dr anyone who tells you specifically to make Empy on DRG, DRK, or SAM is kinda retarded or at least misinformed.

There's a lot of that going around really. Empy is great for WAR and MNK (because it gives them a very good WS), people just try to extend that thinking to jobs with utter- to semi- garbage Empy WS.

Yes, the /DNC everywhere is probably for Dynamis soloing. Yes, soloing, with daily entry...

Where in my post is the suggestion that drg should get an empy. I specifically said war, and then admitted I didn't know what the high tier weapon expectation for drg was (I don't play it, none of my friends play it seriously)

Both times I mentioned an empy it was in relation to war....

To be fair, you jumped back and forth a bunch.

To be also fair, it wasn't specifically your info I was debunking, but instead similar and oft-repeated info in the same vein. I took your sentence directly out of context to illustrate precisely that.

For that matter, two out of the three jobs the OP mentioned, DRG and SAM, fell into that category. I find it safer to assume they'd falsely expand the 'Empy is good for WAR' advice you gave.
