FFXI full screen mode not supported by a 32 in. Samsung LCD Follow

I'm trying to return to FFXI after like, 4 years of not touching it. I recently downloaded the Abyssea Collection via Steam. After finally getting all the updates and log in info squared away, I attempted to play the game. However, upon selecting the "Play" option, my TV screen goes black and I get a "Mode Not Supported" message. My PC doesn't lock up and I can easily ctrl+alt+del my way back to the Playonline Viewer. My graphics card is a GeForce 8800 GTS and the TV is a Samsung 32 inch 720p, model number LN32B360C5D. This set up can run WoW and SWTOR perfectly fine. I've done some searching but, all the info I can find is about messing with resolution and refresh rate. I've tried everything I've found but, I can't get a working result. Any help would be really appreciated, thank you.

It's sounds like you have the resolution to the game set to something different than what your desktop is running at. Look in the Playonline folder for the FFXI config program and set your background resolution to match what you have your desktop resolution set to in Windows. Then you can set your overlay resolution to some value higher than your background resolution as well.

One thing to note. You don't HAVE to set your FFXI resolution to the same thing as your desktop but it has to be a resolution supported by your TV. It is recommended the be set the same as FFXI will typically perform better if so.
