The presale button is now available on the FFXI top page within the PlayOnline Viewer. I'd almost expect an announcement on playonline.com about the items availble for completion sometime within the next 5 hours, lol.

Preferably with Haste as an augment. I'm have neither Homam nor Usukane pants, pants as an ASA reward with Haste as an augment would cover all my DD jobs. :D

Seconded ^^ I've finally got a 70+ job (MNK) that can use Kitty pants, and it would be cool indeed to not feel like I'm gimp because I never went through the Sky grind (since my other jobs really don't need any Sky gear). With Mirke and an augmentable leg armor reward from Shantotto... I could make a very nice MNK gear set while avoiding the Sky grind.

I'd be pretty happy with accessories too. A killer back piece or a belt I could certainly live with. Just no more rings/earrings, and I have a bunch of good shoes already for all my jobs too so yeah...

Meh was hoping for feet or some other slot. Here's hoping we can get either haste +5% or an attribute stat +7.

The designs are kinda meh this time around except for the mage pants (which totally should be for the mirke/anwig wearers lol) plus it has the coolest name.

Oh well...time to wait for augment info now.

While wearing the metal blinds pants, MNK/THF/BST/RNG/NIN/BLU/COR/PUP/DNC would have access to new job ability called "Transform" in which the character would be able to dislocate their bones and then form a metal box. While under the "Transform" ability, the character will temporarily join the Decepticons, be renamed as "Desultassetor", and receive no damage unless the enemy engaged (only if the enemy is of Automaton type) used their "Transform II" ability to change into the Autobots which would deal triple the damage to Decepticons.

Desultor Tassets, my butt ... it's metal blinds pants ... don't be fooled! Yes, we blame you, Aramadiel a.k.a. Armadillator of the Decepticons!

I think the reason they are hiding the augmented stats on the pants is because they want to put it up later as another announcements so it feels like there's a lot of things about the next update.

There's not much to the next update other than the add-on and a few tweaks to the jobs.

SE made the mistake of announcing the next update more than a month before the actual maintenance. They can barely come up with 2 announcements per week on the update if you have noticed. Also, some of those announcements could have gone together. They want to stretch it out as much as they can.

I will buy the add-on regardless of the final stats on the gear. I need something to take me away from the boredom that it has come to repeat the same events every week after been playing for 6 years.

The thing that bugs me the most about the Tassets is that the backstory of the pants is that they're for chocobo-riders. Yet, none of the jobs seem to fit chocobo-riders at all.

MNK: H2H, can't punch stuff while riding chocobo
THF: Can't really steal stuff while riding chocobo
BST: You mean you can charm a random animal AND ride chocobo too?
RNG: Somewhat plausible, but I imagine RNG to be more about using terrains to take cover while shooting arrows/bullets
NIN: Yay, have Utsusemi AND can run away on chocobo real quick too! Not to mention the clanking of the metal armor making NIN not so stealthy anymore!
BLU: Would you like a turban and face mask to go along with the metal pants, Sir?
COR: Wooo riding chocobo ON A SHIP!! Double the speed!!!
PUP: Widget, please meet Fat Chocobo, maybe we'd have Automachobo or the Chocomaton!!
DNC: Dancing while riding a chocobo huh? Or riding chocobo to the next tavern to perform, is it?

If any, the backstory would suit more for the heavy armor section though might not fit too well with DRG, but somewhat plausible for SAM, WAR, DRK, and PLD. S-E now dropped the ball on their backstory too, I guess. ><!!

*still really hoping that these pants have godly stats*

I like all the pant designs. Better than the heavy and light armor head pieces.

I think the Tassets will go nicely with my Mirke and Anwig esp on a Mithra character.

The mage pants are kick ass but its strangely the only set where nothing matches. Although I think the dragon pants will go nicely with a Weskit.

The heavy armor pants are a nice complement to the body piece.

Over all my feelings for these pieces:
Head: mage>light>heavy
Body:heavy>light>mage
Legs: mage>heavy>light
Matching Set: Light>Heavy>Mage

Kinda evens out in the end.

Replacing a Hauby with no negative stats is one thing, surpassing kitty/homam legs is another. I hope SE is reading this thread because the almighty dollar is on the line for them. My suggestion, just make it a WS macro swap or for magic spells or SA/TA. No haste SE, do it and die!

While they aren't much to look at, I like the heavy meets light concept behind the light armor. Not much to look at though. The mage ones are kind of meh to me. Nice print but nothing to innovating in the actual pants or design concepts.

I like to note how this is the first batch without a sort of unique or rarely used model to them too.:/(Serawells and slacks for light and mage respectively. Not a heavy armor guy to recognize that model.)

I am a little bummed but half excited it's pants. I got usu pants first because of the fact for pup there is no good Pet augmenting stat for DDing and I full time usu pants. So unless the mage one is rock my socks hotness for whm(Which I doubt unless there an augment refresh) usu will be promptly kicked to ws gear. Greater good, greater good.

Anywho the actual stats and another trailer to look forward to, yee haw.

Sucks for you I guess. Not many jobs can use Homam, and even jobs that can certain types of leader refuse to let them lot on it. No one really does sky anymore and not many people are willing to pay for gear that's technically "free" e.g Merc. So if they DO release an equivalent it helps those who have started out post "Sky era" and those not on Homam.

Theres no way they are going to make these able to get 3% haste (ability to be on par with homam and barbarosa), let alone 5%. While SE may have made their past augmentable items equivalent or slightly better (depending on what augments you put on them) than the standard pieces, they havent taken out the high end pieces. If the body had beaten E body and then head beaten Heca cap, then yes you could be pissed and think that they would actually do this. But they didnt so just calm down buddy and lets see what they do.

You do know DNCs get 3% haste on their RELIC LEGS which comes from DYNAMIS right? There's very little to say they won't add haste on the final add-on equipment, and if they do..so what? Who does it hurt? Who's puppy is it killing? Who's family will it rape?

I have good WS pants (both P seraweels and Commodore are good options). I don't have any good melee pants. With a couple points of Dex and maybe an ACC 5, Haste +3%, I'd be more than happy and not feeling like I've been left off the list of most of the decent pants in the game.

Does haste affect ranged, though? I thought Snapshot was the "Ranged Haste". Also, Salvage isn't exactly a "pick up and do it" as people usually do it with their clique or shell and even then the shell usually only take 'best of best' or 'core members' over someone who's joined recently. So they aren't hard in terms of event, they are in terms of actually trying to get them.

2-3% Haste is plausible. Let's look at the jobs that have access to haste legs:

Byakko's Haidate (5%)
WAR/MNK/BST/BRD/RNG/SAM
NIN

Barbarossa's Zerehs (3%)
WAR/MNK/THF/BST/BRD/RNG
SAM/NIN/DRG/COR/PUP/DNC

Homam Cosciales (3%)
THF/PLD/DRK /DRG/BLU

Nashira Seeraweels (2%)
WHM/BLM/RDM/SMN/BLU

Skadi's Chausses (2%)
BST/COR/RNG/THF

Usukane Hizayoroi (3%)
MNK/SAM/NIN/PUP

Etoile Tights (3%)
DNC

Blessed Trousers(+1) (3-4%)
WHM

Bravo's Subligar (2%)
THF

Only one job is left out from getting haste pants and that is SCH. Every other job is represented and has haste pants options, as some jobs have multiple options(3). I expect that if there is haste of any kind, it will be paired with a stat that not everyone will want. Something like 2 or 3% haste with +10 Ranged Acc.

After the disappointing BST update, these pants having incredible stats is the only way I'd come back. 5% haste at a 'minimum' and preferably with no lame ass "also grants quick-shot bonus!" like they pulled with the hat (you lost my money on that cash-shop-hat-covered-up-to-be-an-expansion because of the dumb choice to leave the turban unrivaled).

If this is the case, I'll return and probably play until XIV, but anything less than amazing and there's no reason for me to dump another 40 or so bucks (10 on the expansion, 13 on reactivation, and another couple months of play minimum, to not get something awesome in return - you know, something 'new' awesome).

I'd really like to see something like haste + scythe skill or general accuracy or whatever ... anything to really 'boost' the damage for the last stretch before the game dies out. I'm just hoping it doesn't end up being a "10 attack 10 accuracy" piece... if they just copy the body I'm just giving up.

Basically, the game was better when people spent more time talking about how they were going to do some mission/party/bcnm/nm/whatever, and less time arguing over which piece of gear will increase their DPS by 0.5% on firesday if the mob has feint on it, and you have two bards (but NOT a bard and a corsair, because then Y piece provides 0.2% more WS!)

Because now its WoW. You idiots made it this way.

treasurehunterxxx, Posted: Oct 26th 2009 11:12am, Score: Sub-Default, [expand] well i was giving it some thought and what the could do instead of adding +5% haste is to add like 3% then put on +5 to triple att or double att.

Sweet! More situationally-marginally-better gear that I get to carry around and swap to! Please, oh please let me carry even more sh*t to swap in and out of every 10 seconds!

The fact that augmented stats did not come out with the pre-order tells you a lot.

It's very likely the development team has hit pretty much the same kind of issues being discussed here and it's potentially a good sign.

The two add-on pieces that far has benefited different jobs. The body piece had very nice exclusive stats for pet jobs. The hat has nice stats for mage and DD jobs. In some cases, some players may have no reason to get a particular piece.

I think legs will represent a more radical rethink of the augmented stats and won't be along the expect lines , granted stats like haste, attk, acc, and stat bonuses likely will feature.

I have a feeling all new 'effects' or 'enhance: X ' will feature more heavily instead to a) not outdate the existing gear, especially Byakkos b) continue in the same path they've pursued since ACP, which is to have certain augments help certain overlooked jobs which may not have had a JSE.

Something for scholar/dancer/blu/pup/cor might be plausible.

Going by the jobs in your sig it wouldn't be situational. It would be the best TP headpiece for Bst, Dnc and Mnk except in very rare circumstances where you have capped acc such as fighting DC mobs. Also Mirke hauby is better than Shura, honestly there is no reason to complain about the gear, both peices so far have been usefull. If you don't like the Anwig TP piece you could also make it into the best WS headpeice for multi hit WS in the game, 25 acc is pretty beefy.

Cor got 5 seconds off quick draw from the body, which is the single best thing a Cor coulf got out of all of these almost. Ill take another 5 seconds if they offer it.
